There's been a trend about #Horriblebosses in the tech space and the revelations are quite shocking. So I thought to share my 2 cents on this topic because if other bosses are not careful, the calling out may soon snowball into more sector #HorribleBosses #Thread
I have worked in the banking sector & I must say throughout my career as an employee I was privileged to work with good bosses. However, I was surrounded by people who had horrid stories to tell about their bosses and I must say this has been damaging to their mental health.
I strongly believe that the impeccable skill of Leadership is grossly underestimated by most institutions in sub saharan Africa. The assumption is that leadership is a position and because "I have worked hard to get there, I must make those beneath me suffer."
#HorribleBosses in Nigeria also thrive because the #IncompetentEmployees who are their favourites of the moment collude to frustrate reporting systems and set up those who try to speak up and change things.
While they are getting crumbs from their oppressor they see no wrong.🤓🤡
