As of this morning, @houstonpolice have conducted 33 high-water rescues. @HoustonFire responded to 56 water rescues. 164 vehicles were towed as of midnight. Houstonians can find information about their towed vehicles at FindMyTowedCar.com. 2/5

#Thread: Yesterday for the 1st time, #Houston reported 1000+ positive #COVID19 cases in a single day. There is still severe & uncontrolled spread of #COVID_19 in our community & between families, friends & neighbors. I call on the State RPT to cancel its convention & go virtual. 
Many sponsors have withdrawn support & @GHPartnership has asked the party to cancel the GOP convention. I am calling on the leadership to do the right thing in the interest of public safety & health.

I am aware of the 2 confirmed cases of #COVID19 in unincorporated North West Harris County. While people need to remain vigilant, there is currently no need for average Houstonains to take out-of-the-ordinary protective actions. (1/5)
I encourage all #Houstonians to continue enjoying our wonderful city. For example, we had a fantastic lunch today in #Asiatown at Ocean Palace Restaurant. I treated about 50 City of Houston employees including executive staff to some great family-style Chinese food. (2/5)
