#HyderabadRains I've personally seen the devastation that the deluge has caused to people in Hyderabad Parliament Constituency & Rajendernagar. People have lost their life savings, they've also lost essential all household items: stoves, clothes, utensils @TelanganaCMO [1]
I urge @TelanganaCMO to help these families get back on their feet. They're in distress & need urgent relief. According to GO MS 2 of 2015, houses that have suffered serious/partial damage are entitled to 95,100 rupees. 75% of this amount is to come from Govt of India [2]
In GHMC & its adjoining municipalities, the destruction due to flash-floods has been total. It is essential that the relief is given immediately. I understand that the State's finances are in a difficult situation due to the Centre's refusal to pay GST compensation [3]
While most commentary on the #HyderabadRains has focussed on govt's response post the rains, it is staggering how the Met department (IMD) gets away with rank incompetency in their predictions.
Take a look at their prediction for yesterday. "Heavy rain in isolated places in Telangana" kehte. There was a DELUGE in Hyderabad last night (average 15cm rainfall!)! A deluge.
Why couldn't IMD give a specific warning regarding this, so that preparations could be better?

Look at the shoddy copy-paste job for the next 4 days. Is IMD saying we may witness spells of 15 cm rains across the state? What is the quantitative difference between "heavy rains" and "very heavy rains" predicted for Tuesday? We expect more than 15cm that day?
