NEW from me ⁦@TheSpectator⁩:

Meet Mandy Cohen, the Fauci fangirl Biden wants to head the CDC

Cohen has what critics deem a record of punishing political opponents and co-founded a group pushing to defund the police 😬

(1/xx) thespectator.com/topic/mandy-co…
Mandy Cohen — the doctor rumored to be President Joe Biden’s successor to the scandal-plagued Rochelle Walensky atop the Centers for Disease Control — loves Anthony Fauci, multiple sources familiar with her record tell us.

thespectator.com/topic/mandy-co…

(2/xx)
Mandy Cohen, Biden’s likely pick to helm the CDC has what many view as a troubling record of politicizing science and unnecessarily supporting draconian lockdown measures, even in the face of scientific reality.

NEW from me @TheSpectator:

I’m at today’s long awaited @tiktok_us hearing, where the Communist spyware CEO is going to gaslight America

He’s now on on Cap Hill with a Socialist Congressman and a Biden-tied Mao lover's firm in his pockets

TikTok’s CEO is gearing up for a grilling in Congress, but he’s got some new, powerful allies in his corner: a political consulting firm whose founder lavished praise on Mao Zedong and is now one of Biden’s top aides — and a socialist congressman who thespectator.com/topic/tiktok-f…twitter.com/i/web/status/1…

New from me @TheSpectator:

Democrats in Washington, DC and Iowa are now led by a pair of election deniers.

thespectator.com/topic/iowa-dem…

(1/xx)
Following a disastrous cycle, @iowademocrats have elected @RitaHartIA, one of their party’s most prominent 2020 election deniers, to helm them into a critical 2024.

thespectator.com/topic/iowa-dem…

(2/xx)
The decision by @iowademocrats comes weeks after @HouseDemocrats threw out their old leadership and elected veteran election denier Hakeem Jeffries to run their caucus.

I wrote about that @TheSpectator here:

The #TopMinion phone bank is the unsung hero of 2022

We made over 1,OOO,OOO calls for Republicans around the country, helping our friends win primaries and general elections

While some of them came up short, I'm confident we'll see them soon

Here's who we called for...

(1/xx) Image
The #TopMinion Phone Bank called all over New York, starting with @claudiatenney in her primary in the new #NY24 district, which she resoundingly won en route to a landslide victory in November

(2/x) Image
If at first you don't succeed...

@EliseStefanik is a huge supporter of @marcmolinaro, and when her team asked if the #TopMinion Phone Bank could call for him, we did over 5O,OOO calls for him in the #NY19 special

While he came up just short then, he won in November!

2022 #Midterms Simulation: #ArtoftheGerrymander

A Republican House win will be built on gerrymanders (TX/GA/FL/TN/LA, etc.)

To illustrate the need for fair maps, I'm calculating the results using the 2022 votes, but if every state had a Democratic gerrymander. #ElectionTwitter ImageImageImageImage
Methodology:

I’ll apply the difference in Presidential margin to the House result. Thanks @davesredist @mikemathieu @vest_team + @DKElections @PoliticsWolf

Keen to see how my maps perform over the decade; tried to comply with state law if partisan intent were allowed to stand.
#ArtoftheGerrymander: #Alabama
Trump 62.0% - Biden 36.6%
Real delegation: 6R-1D
Gerrymandered: 5R-2D
Δ Share of D seats: 14% => 28%
Easy Democratic pick-up of a safe new African American seat.

First up, @hinsonashley.

Earlier this week, Ashley proudly took a bow and announced $829 million heading to #IA01 for critical locks & dams work.

Only problem? She voted NO on the legislation that made this possible.

Next: Maryland’s only Republican Andy Harris.

Andy announced $50k in federal funding for dredging work in his district that he had absolutely no part in securing.

A few stray thoughts on last night's Trump rally in Iowa, so bear with me:
independent.co.uk/news/world/ame…
1. It's still largely Trump's party. Chuck Grassley is the longest-serving Republican and has a brand that is independent of Trump. But nonetheless, he's willing to accept his endorsement.
independent.co.uk/news/world/ame…
Peculiarly, @ChuckGrassley didn't vote to object to the election results on Jan 6, but Trump endorsed him anyway. Nor did @hinsonashley of #IA01 or @RepMMM of #IA02 but spoke earlier before Trump.

hello! While we're waiting for more presidential results, I thought I'd give you an update on the House. @DecisionDeskHQ projects that Republicans have won back 5 seats on net so far. Rs flipped 7 seats and Dems won back 2 thanks to redistricting in NC businessinsider.com/2020-house-ele…
Seats projected to flip D to R, per @DecisionDeskHQ

#IA01 ( Finkenauer)
#FL26 (Mucarsel-Powell)
#FL27 (Shalala)
#MN07 (Peterson)
#NM02 (Torres Small)
#OK05 ( Horn)
#SC01 (Cunningham)

Others to keep an eye on as more votes are counted: #CA21, #CA39, #NY11, #NY22, #UT04
Democrats have also fallen short on many of their offensive targets to flip R-held seats: their most promising pickup opportunity is #GA07, where @DecisionDesk HQ has not projected a winner and we should (hopefully!) get more clarity today as more votes are counted/reported

House Rs are no longer w/in range of taking back the majority. But if there's a silver lining, it's that they're poised to elect far more women than they did in 2018, when their female ranks plummeted from 22 to 13 (!).
Four GOP women are basically guaranteed to come to Congress in 2021:

#GA14 Marjorie Taylor Greene
#IL15 Mary Miller
#MI10 Lisa McClain
#TN01 Diana Harshbarger

Four more w/ strong opportunities in open seats: #CO03 Boebert, #IN05 Spartz, #IA02 Miller-Meeks, #TX24 Van Duyne
Additionally, there are 7 more GOP women running against Dem incumbents in @CookPolitical's Toss Up column:

#NM02 Yvette Herrell
#NY11 Nicole Malliotakis

🚨IOWA UPDATE, with 100% of precincts according to the IDP.

Buttigieg is AHEAD of Sanders in SDE count by 1.51 SDE (that's less than 0.1%).

Note: IDP did NOT change its allocation of satellites SDEs.
🚨CAUTION 🚨 Some glaring mistakes that have been widely reported for more than 24 hours were NOT fixed.

1) Des Moines-14 is still glaringly incorrect. Sanders should be netting 0.2798 SDE here.
2) Ocheyedan Precinct 0500 is still incorrect. Also was flagged yesterday. Sanders should be getting 0.1 SDE that is going to Buttigieg (so a net of 0.2 SDE).

Tested it out with this new KY map. Based on 2016-2019 results, intrigued how it would do in 2020. The #KY04 (R+7 PVI) seems more competitive than the real #KY06 (R+9), with the movement in the Cincinnati and Lexington suburbs. 2/27 davesredistricting.org/join/d389d8e2-…
However, I also did a bunch of Democratic gerrymanders after 2012 redistricting to compare with the real Republican ones. Thought I’d review how my designs performed in light of 2016. The contrast shows just how much of a difference partisan control makes (spoiler: a lot). 3/27
