There's rarely a day when Ofsted does not flag serious failures at one home (often there is more than one). They also post notices about homes that remain suspended or subject to restrictions of accommodation.

In fair, they are quoting Josh MacAlister. But somebody needs to call this stuff out, honestly.
Children's services are increasingly in the pocket of private providers. Yesterday's event was a good example of the closeness between them. Much back-slapping and talk about partnership, notwithstanding MacAlister's speech.
Children were locked in their rooms alone for up for ten days and a staff member was drunk at a children's home run by the multimillion pound private company Cambian. bbc.co.uk/news/uk-englan…
Also today, shares in the company that owns Cambian, CareTech, has reached a five-year high. The company is now worth more than £600 million. Profiting from a pandemic.
