Stumbled across this today when looking for a different reference and did a double take - another David Steensma, and a Dr Papaemmanuil who is not @PapaemmanuilLab, publishing on #ICUS which we have both published on - neither are especially common surnames 😮

As an undergraduate @Calvin_Uni I published a quantum physics paper with Bob Steen, and we were desperate to get Steve Steenwyk in the department to author with us so it could be the Steen-Steensma-Steenwyk paper, but it didn’t work out /3
Given the full community spread of #SARS_CoV_2, it is time to stop incessant #RTPCR testing in asymptomatic people, so called "healthy sick" , and save resources. Start early Rx with ivermectin+budesonide+Zn+ chicken soup+kadha or whatever in mild to moderate #Covid_19 cases. 1/n
And, reserve #ICUs for serious #Covid patients only. Start triage and stop the use of #Remdesivir and #convalescentplasma therapy ASAP, as it doesn't help save lives. Don't hospitalize maniacs hyperventilating due to fear in the Covid ward and shift them to counseling ... 2/n

/// So instead of going to sleep I spent last night doing this calculation and the results were pretty terrible. I think it's important but because it is so important I decided to put in a bit more time and have it checked by critical friends.
So I took the original thread down. Once I'm done with review, I'll bring it back up here, promised. Especially when results are harsh, I'd like to stick to how science works. First peer review, then sharing with the public. Thanks for your understanding!

Irony is I get flask for not doing bronchs where I rarely find anything and I get flak for doing Swans where, as in this case, I often find useful things
To elaborate on “lift it flick it flush it” just in case it’s not obvious: b/f you float the swan, check it’s response on the monitor: lift it (the tip) 10 cm & see if baseline rises accordingly on the monitor; flick the tip to see if you get deflections; then flush it to see if
