Displinary power is the way GoK controls you using institutions like prisons and schools. They tell you when to wake up and when to sleep, when to eat and when to play.
Governmentality is when the GoK controls through your life outside those institutions, like in your family.

GoK tells you how to be a parent. It no longer gives teachers a syllabus - it even tells us how to teach and demands a lot of paperwork to prove that we taught exactly the way people in Jogoo house said we should. Hence they demand printed evidence that your kid made a sandwich.
If you're going to defend violence in schools, you better be Nelson Mandela or Barack Obama. None of you defending it have done anything to write home about, yet you come here to tell us you turned out fine. Priss. Try another. #ifikiemastude
And let's stop calling it "corporal punishment," or "caning" or "kiboko". Call it for what it is: VIOLENCE. So that when cops kill unarmed poor men in the slums or Kisumu, or when parents kill their children, we know we're talking about the same thing #ifikiemastude
And media, we know that it's the police (and maybe @USEmbassyKenya) who are feeding you with these lines that criminalize our kids so that you distract us. Y'all know that and want the men you have impoverished to take out their violence on us women and youth #ifikiemastude
