The manuscript presumably entitled "Treatise on astronomy and the reformation of time" is housed in the @BibliotecaNalCo. Using other sources (@ArchivoGeneral @Banrepcultural), we read this Tratado as part of the #earlymodern globalisation of Spanish cosmography (2/17)
Under the influence of Spanish cosmography, the repertorios de los tiempos–books encompassing astronomical, agricultural, ecclesiastical, medical, and calendrical questions–incorporated cosmographical elements coming from Sacrobosco and the Theorica (3/17)

My favorite way to learn a new group of inverts is to describe & draw a new species. You have to do all this research on known species so you learn a lot. Then you do detailed drawings that ensure you learn each structure. Hard to forget something you spent hours drawing
The end result is a series of drawings like this that show important anatomical structures that are used to identify different species #draw #science #art #scienceillustration

Mais le métier d'#illustrateur·rice #scientifique réclame bien d'autres compétences que ce qu'on appelle trivialement "savoir #dessiner".

Pour dessiner, j'utilise mon #critérium fétiche, dont la pointe fait 0,03 mm. ✏️ La mine est très, très (très) fragile mais elle permet un trait extrêmement précis... Et discret, ce qui est un plus, car un trait de contour trop visible peut nuire au réalisme d'un sujet !
Évidemment, comme je travaille chez moi, je bénéficie parfois d'un soutien moral bienvenu mais un peu... Encombrant. Regardez-moi ce face à face entre deux fauves. 😸
