This halt comes after hundreds of Jamaican & Haitian immigrants were rapidly deported as soon as the TRO from Texas was issued. Their goal includes thousands of African immigrants as well. Our full demand is all deportations be stopped immediately!

As a community that is the constant target of punitive anti-Blackness and anti-immigrant sentiment and policies, we were not surprised by this immediate and brazen attempt to halt progress on the immigration front through the 100-day deportation moratorium.
Deportations are continuing at an alarming rate, especially of Black immigrants.
In the coming days, ICE is planning to deport around *1,800 people* to Haiti, Cameroon, Angola, Honduras, and elsewhere.
