Western society exalts itself as the sole embodiment of reason and logic and science on Earth; even mere #Christian bigots like @dalepartridge or @jordanbpeterson have taught themselves to pretend that their bigotries—and indeed their religious assertions—are "logical".

this is an easy trick for human beings to manage.

any human being can be taught to stick, without ever yielding, to an assertion—however absurd the assertion is. "@jordanbpeterson is logical and rational" is an absurd assertion but Mr. Peterson and his fans stick by it.

Last go for the crib on #BaptismoftheLord... end of #Christmas season in the Western calendar. Back to green, #OrdinaryTime. But that’s still pretty extraordinary in itself... many cribs retain the #shepherds & add in the #Magi. Not sure what they all eat...nearly 3 weeks! 1/
You have to say, it gets pretty crowded & noisy in there...shepherds, lambs, pipes... the ox & ass aren’t #Trappists either... 2/
...and that’s not to mention the #Angels... We conflate 2 separate events a year apart. If #Epiphany had its own octave all would make more sense. It would give #OrdinaryTime 33 weeks too; which makes sense: a week for every year... 3/
