Stories from passionate folks who aren't ex-footballers attending coaching courses, are very disheartening.

The bias against them and the ego of coach educators in #IndianFootball remains massive.

If you're looking to follow your passion, I would strongly advise against it.
Just one example:

A young kid, who had a FA level 1 and pursuing a sports management degree, was attending his D after successfully completing his E.

He was given a 7v7 game for his final practical, after he completed the mandatory 2 because the instructor wasn't happy.
He went with a 1-2-3-1 formation and tried to press the opposition team high.

His instructor told him it should always be a GK+3 at the back for a 7v7 and that "pressing should always happen in your own half."

A small thread on what transpired and how the FIFA Council actually saw the Supreme Court order in context with the Under-17 Womenโ€™s World Cup...
The FIFA Council took a unanimous decision to suspend AIFF last week itself after the Supreme Court order said an interim elected body would look after the operations of AIFF for 3 months. Due course was only followed on Monday.
FIFA didn't see the Supreme Court order as a wholesome proposal when India was supposed to host the U-17 Women's World Cup. FIFA actually felt that it was a very confusing court order.

#COA & advisors knew that #FIFA will never take third party involvement lightly but still they took the risk & kept on going against #FIFA.

Heartbreak for true #IndianFootball fans. Think about @GokulamKeralaFC
Women's team who travelled & prepared for #AFC competition

#FIFA will never allow any federation to give players voting rights, If they do so then in future players might ask for voting rights for #FIFA elections.

It's naive from COA and others who thought they can give players voting rights just like that.

#IndianFootball 2/3
FIFA will give #AIFF another chance to get house in order before giving #FIFAU17WC to backup host.

When I spoke to people about backup hosts they told me it's joke but seems like FIFA was not joking.

How to beat Jamshedpur FC
A small thread ๐Ÿงต
Last game ATK try to exploit one of the Jamshedpur flanks with Subhasish Bose as a key player and how? Throughout the first 45 minutes he played as a midfleder rather than a wingback and his postitioning disturbs the JFC defence too.
What ferrando try to execute through Bose's positioning?Ferrando try to drag the JFC midfleder towards Bose and open up the free space for liston and kauko to attack. Due to high pressing by JFC players there created a lot of space between Jfc defence and midfled
and kauko tried to move to those spaces throughout the entire game. Sometimes Roy Krishna too occupied those spaces. Rotation between these 3 players Liston, kauko,Bose was the ferrando's tactics but somehow they failed to execute it.

Regardless of what happens in their concluding league clash against ATK Mohun Bagan, @JamshedpurFC coach Owen Coyle deserves huge credit for what he has done since coming to India. First he took Chennaiyin from the bottom to ISL final and has now worked his magic at Jamshedpur.
At both Chennaiyin and Jamshedpur, Coyle has thrived with less glamorous foreign players and hardly-known domestic signings. At Chennaiyin, Valskis ended with Golden Boot and hasnโ€™t touched the same heights again. At Jamshedpur, Chima Chukwu has been a stunning revelation.
For Coyle to let go of Valskis and replace him with Chima was a huge gamble. You are replacing a Golden Boot winner with a player who was laughed at, ridiculed and vilified at SC East Bengal. But Coyle knows his football better than anyone else, and found the perfect striker.

The Blue Tigers dominated the game with 74% possession. Bangladesh was very lenient with the press in the opposition half, hence the 1st phase of build-up was less challenging

Thread - With their legacy & millions of fans Mohun Bagan & East Bengal have seen several iconic personnel over the years. This list includes players, officials...and groundsmen. Popularly known as "mali" two such groundsmen became legends in their own rights.ย #IndianFootball
Bhaskar "Bhasiya" Senapati was from Orissa & joined Mohun Bagan in 1937. It was said that Bhasiya gave up offers in Brook Bonds & State Bank so that he could continue to work at Mohun Bagan. His voter identity card had the club address as his home address #IndianFootball
After Mohun Bagan's shattering 5-0 loss in 1975 IFA Shield final he was so sad that he didn't eat for 3 days. Among his favourites were Gostha Pal, Chuni Goswami, Subrata Bhattacharya. He played dual role of "Head mali" & club masseuse #IndianFootball

As promised, here goes the latest developments. Long post warning. Those who just want the gist of the matter, it was a 8 points agenda - 5 agreed, delivered & resolved, 2 agreed but yet to be delivered & 1 the club has requested for reconsideration. #EastBengalFC #IndianFootball
Let's first take a look at the 5 points that are now resolved:

1. Under no circumstances #EastBengal can drag Shree Cement to court on any of the points covered in the agreement. The club has to give legal affidavit on bond paper. Both are on the same page here. #IndianFootball
2. Legal recognizance must be provided by the club executive committee that the 3 points opposed during EGM would never be brought up in any future disputes. This too was agreed upon. #EastBengal #IndianFootball #ISL #EBFC

The curious case of Jaime Santos Colado: an #IndianFootball version of Ozil-Arsenal & Bale-Real saga in the making?

Has a valid contract till 2021. New owners no longer interested. Mediation by #EastBengal for a mutual exit failed. He is adamant to see through the contract. 1/2
It's worth noting that #EastBengal had signed indemnity bond during its seperation from Quess, so the club can't terminate his contract unilaterally. Shree Cement has already lined up his replacement & now seeking legal discourse to negotiate a painstaking exit for Colado. 2/3
The replacement lined up for Colado is also wanted by few other clubs. He is interested in #ISL, but has given a deadline of Wednesday to make it happen. Colado still enjoys support of some #EastBengal officials & Shree Cement is not too happy with that. More to follow.

The Sustainable Development of Top-Level Indian Club Football - A Road Map, a 14-page document which @FIFAcom and @theafcdotcom sent to #AIFF (@IndianFootball) on Feb 17, 2018, clearly denoting that path ahead was a unified league, with 14 teams by 2020-21. @timesofindia

After sitting on it for 17 months - a year and half - the #AIFF (@IndianFootball) on July 26, 2019, says they can't implement the recommendations (timesofindia.indiatimes.com/sports/footbalโ€ฆ). What was stopping them, who is actually making these decisions that is killing #IndianFootball? @toisports
Authored by Alex Phillips (head of Asia-Europe Affairs, @theafcdotcom) and Nic Coward (Professional Football Consultant, @FIFAcom), the RoadMap fairly lists out the path for an egalitarian co-existence between @ILeagueOfficial (#ILeague) clubs and #ISL franchises. 3/14
