The Indian government has ordered @YouTube and @Twitter to take down videos and tweets about a @BBCWorld documentary that is critical of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. BBC aired the first episode of the two-part documentary, “India: The Modi Question” on January 17.
The series addresses the 2002 communal riots in the western Indian state of #Gujarat , where Modi was the chief minister at the time. Nearly 800 Muslims and more than 250 Hindus died in the riots.

Claim: A photo of an Indian fighter jet is claimed as aftermath of #OperationSwiftRetort.

Fact: The image of crashed jet is actually from 2015 where an Indian trainer jet crashed in Odisha state on June 3, 2015.
A trend started on Feb 26-27, 2022 on Twitter to highlight Pakistan's #OperationSwiftRetort in response to India's #BalakotAirStrike. Amid several posts, we found some posts featuring an image of a crashed fighter jet as if its result of an aftermath of the operation by Pakistan.

टेस्टिंग किट बस एक ही देश बेच रहा था और वो था चीन।

Rapid Testing Kit का थोड़ा बहुत इंपोर्ट चीन से हुआ, उसमें भी ज़्यादातर ख़राब निकले। अभी रोज़ क़रीब 1 लाख टेस्ट हो रहे हैं और ज़्यादातर टेस्टिंग किट भारतीय कंपनियाँ बना रही हैं।

We spoke with @kavita_krishnan about the problem on India's airwaves.
We interviewed @sudhirchaudhary - one of India's most prominent news hosts, whose show airs on @ZeeNewsHindi.

We asked for his response to critics who accuse him and his channel of uncritical support to the BJP-led national government.

Here's what he said:
Many of India's news channels have taken to amplifying the nationalistic rhetoric of the BJP.

Why? Is it vested interests, ideology, commercial imperatives...or all of these factors?
