#China is building #PLA naval facility in northern portiion of #Cambodia’s #Ream #NavalBase on the #Gulf of #Thailand. #PLAN
Back in 2019, #China signed an agreement allowing its armed forces to use a #Cambodian #NavalBase to boost its ability to project military power around the globe.
The deal allows #China to use the base for 30 years, with automatic renewals every 10 years after that. #China would be able to post military personnel, store weapons & berth warships. A #Chinese company is also constructing a very large airport very close to the Naval facility.

Which is the greater military power: #PRC with 60,000 troops massed on India’s border(for ~2 years) or #RF with 100,000 troops massed on Ukraine border(for ~ 2 months)?
2/rus #Russian massing of troops around Ukraine is not just a message to #USA and #Europe, but also to #China and #India, not to write off its Military power & ability to use it; even though Russia’s economic power is now much less than that of USA, EU, China, India.🧐🤔
3/rus The #Russian’s have learned from the #PRC aggression against India in 2020, which rapidly lost credibility after Galwan. They have done everything to ensure that the threat of invasion is credible enough to achieve their coercive objectives without fighting.

Jamaat-e-Islami J&K. A #thread.

The Jamaat-i-Islami is, by far, one of the most influential #Islamic movements in the #world today, particularly strong in the countries of #SouthAsia. Its influence extends far beyond the confines of the #Indo-#Pakistan subcontinent.

Jamaat-e-Islami J&K (#JIJK)was formed in 1945 as a chapter of the Jamaat-e-Islami Hind & separated in 1953 due to differences over #political ideology with the parent body.

JIJK was banned in 1975 for 2 years during #Emergency, in 1990 for 5 years for fostering #Terrorism in #Kashmir.
It was handed a 3rd 5 year ban in Feb 2019 2 weeks after #Pulwama attack for its close links with #terror outfits & its involvement in #secessionist activities.

THREAD: How much of a threat does China’s #PLA pose to Taiwan? We mostly focus on the military balance and challenges for U.S. intervention, but another angle needs more exploring—competing demands on PLA attention and resources. 1/9 inss.ndu.edu/Media/News/Art…
The PLA has to prepare for a war with #Taiwan while also handling a growing array of other missions, with finite resources. The #Ladakh crisis is an example. Worries about conflicts in the west tie up a quarter of China’s ground forces. 2/9
Chinese strategists understand the dilemma and discourage over-concentrating on a single contingency. In their parlance, the PLA has to be prepared for war in ALL “strategic directions,” not just the “main strategic direction” (the southeast). 3/9
