Reaction-diffusion systems coupled with moving interface problems (in which the boundary of the domain is part of the solution 🙂) have great importance in various real-world scenarios in chemistry and chemical engineering as well as environmental and life sciences.

As an example of such systems, we developed an #InSilico model of the #biomaterials degradation phenomena, in which the loss of material due to #corrosion (#biodegradation) leads to movement of the material-medium interface.

Možná jste zaznamenali, že strojové učení od DeepMind provedlo nedávno cosi výjimečného. Nebudeme vás napínat, konečně se totiž podařilo vypočítat složenou strukturu proteinů na základě jejich sekvence! Mašina tak určila VCELKU PŘESNĚ 3D strukturu proteinu z AA sekvence! 😏
Půjdeme tedy postupně. Program, který DeepMind (založená Demisem Hassabisem, který kdysi vyvíjel hru Republic: The Revolution…) sesmolil, se jmenuje AlphaFold. Jeho AI přitom POČÍTÁ TVAR výsledného proteinu podle řetězce jeho aminokyselin (ze kterých se skládá). 😏
