#InternationalDayoftheDisappeared was created in response to the secret imprisonment, abduction, & forced disappearances of people in a number of Latin American countries.

Those disappeared are known as desparecidos.
But here in the U.S. we have our own desparecidos.

The U.S. government’s arrest and imprisonment of immigrants increasingly matches the definition of forced disappearances.
