#BREAKING: A #USAF's C-17A heavy airlifter accompanied by an AC-130W Stinger II gunship left Al-Dhafra & are headed toward #Kabul to pick-up last American citizens & troops still in #Afghanistan. The AC-130W will protect the C-17A during its landing at the airport.
57-1438 and 62-3554, two KC-135R tankers of #USAF left Al-Dhafra and are headed toward #Afghanistan to refuel the AC-130Ws, AC-130Js and B-52Hs already airborne over #Kabul.
#BREAKING: Three KC-135R tankers of #USAF flown from McConnell AFB are on their ways to #Afghanistan to join three other KC-135RTs in the operation for evacuation of thousands of #US citizens, troops & #Afghan Nationals who once helped the #ISAF. #Kabul might fall in 72 hours!
The fourth KC-135 is joining the three others on their ways to #Afghanistan. They are 58-0011, 58-0124, 60-0313 and 60-0362, all of them are KC-135RT from 22nd ARW of #USAF.
#BREAKING: 97-0046, 05-5143 & 10-0219, three of the C-17A Heavy airlifters which #USAF has dedicated for the evacuation operation in #Afghanistan have now left #Germany & #Italy & together with four KC-135RTs of the 22nd ARW are headed toward Middle East.

Für das erste Kontingent waren die Umstände noch eher rustikal - das Camp Warehouse in Kabul war erst im Aufbau. Nicht einmal der Zaun war geschlossen am Anfang.

Duschcontainer gab es lange nicht. Gewaschen wurde - auch bei eisigen Temperaturen - in selbst gebastelten Waschgelegenheiten hinter unseren Zelten.
