1/9 🚨 Latest Update from my “Inclusive” School:

This week in SPHE (social, personal and health education) we were discussing puberty and how our bodies develop in adolescence.

2/9 The teacher taking the class has been trying to make my life rather difficult since I started asking questions and raising the issue of women’s rights. I suspect he is a men’s rights activist and quite possibly a misogynist too.

#WomensRightsAreHumanRights #SexMatters
3/9 Anyway, during this class he asked, “Can you tell me something that boys have, that girls don’t, that grows in puberty?” “Penises!” yelled a classmate.

1/9 Recently I got pulled out of class for a “little chat”. I was told I had been reported for making “offensive comments”. Without ascertaining my version of events or even asking if the “reports” were true, it was clear my teacher had already decided I was guilty. #SexMatters
2/9 The only thing I’m guilty of is expressing perfectly sensible and legitimate views! Plus, since when is offending someone a big deal? People take offence at all kinds of things. Such is life and we all just have to deal with it. #BiologyIsNotBigotry #SexNotGender #SexMatters
3/9 I suspect, although I still don’t know for certain, that these “offensive comments” were actually facts that I discussed with a few classmates when they asked for my opinion. #WomenWontWheesht #WomensRightsAreHumanRights #IStandWithJKRowling #WeWillBeHeard #IStandWithMaya

⁌Enormously significant judgement for feminism and free speech today in ⁌@MForstater⁊ case. Women who believe sex is real and question gender identity beliefs are protected under the Equality Act. Well done everybody who supported #istandwithmaya
As someone who as been maligned and misrepresented simply for stating sex is real, I am enormously relieved by this judgement not just for @MForstater but for thousands of women who have been cancelled for expressing an opinion, however respectfully.
It’s now for those people in positions of power to think carefully about their failure to stand up to intolerance - or why they stood by when women were attacked and misrepresented by online mobs - some, sadly, whipped up by publicly funded organisations and public figures

#IStandWithMaya ❤️

We hope @WEP_UK @WEP_Scot @WEP_Wales @ManduReid are following Maya Forstarter's appeal today

An appeal that gets to the very crux of women's rights in the UK today- women's right to say #sexmatters

Case details 👇🏿

It is vital that @WEP_UK get to grips with the issues at the crux of this appeal

It is also key that the @EHRC is intervening on behalf of Maya & indicates how far we have come despite the silence of our feminist leaders at WEP

#IStandWithMaya #SexMatters
WEP bursts at the seams with radical, women centred policies ❤️ & our leader @ManduReid is smart, compassionate & down to earth ❤️

However we have left the heavy lifting of defending #womensrights to those without the protection & weight that we have as a party.

Dear Maya, Good luck with your appeal. You have walked a very hard road and I wish you every success. It has taken a century for women’s rights to be recognised. Women are still not recognised as full human subjects by the human rights movement. @MForstater #IStandWithMaya
I can speak out because I am not part of the ‘women’s sector’ or the ‘human rights movement’, at least not with any funding from either. I saw @amnesty, @AmnestyUK,@AmnestyIreland the failure to distinguish between defending rights and promoting murderous fundamentalist movements
It is no surprise that @amnesty was slow to accept women’s rights and never fully accepted women’s bodily autonomy, for instance with abortion, is happy to promote a form of trans rights which erases women’s safety. They could have developed policies to protect both. They did not

We are also extremely concerned about the ‘affirmative’ model, especially as v.young kids are being pigeonholed (AGAIN) and flagged as trans for liking toys/clothes marketed for the opposite sex. @jk_rowling #IStandWithJKRowling
jkrowling.com/opinions/state…
This includes "parents resources" on the Mermaids website which follows the story of Kelly:

"We started to let Evie (4) bring girls’ clothes & toys into the house, and when she was five she told me her biggest dream in the world was to own a dress"
At no point during this "liking girls toys and clothes" does this child show ANY sign of gender dysphoria.

"Every time we went to the supermarket she would make a beeline for the aisle with all the dolls and girls toys and get very upset when I told her they weren’t for her."

THREAD – #GenderWooWoo

Today I incurred the wrath of the Pronoun Platoon.

The crime? – a rap song about how a man cannot become a woman.

I stated some facts and the herd went berserk.

I say in the song: – “If a man wishes to live his life imitating a woman or a bat – fine!”

I am a believer in individual liberty.

I shall uphold dignity in personal interactions.

But I shall not pretend that it isn’t an imitation.
Sex is immutable.

Even if one undergoes every single reassignment procedure, one does not become the opposite sex.

One can take cross-sex hormones, have estradiol valerate injections, undergo an orchiectomy – that is to say, a castration.

Thread of analysis:

Philosophers, lawyers and all sorts of thoughtful people have been looking at the facts, judgement and implications of my case...
First there was @Docstockk "Women are losing not just their legal and social protections, but we are approaching a situation where women (and men) cannot even legally speak about this loss" link.medium.com/UqAVdHEwG2
Then @janeclarejones " just like trans activist discourse itself, the judgement is maddeningly circular. If it is the case that biological sex exists then this judgement simply falls apart in several places." janeclarejones.com/2019/12/21/bad…

Everyone linking that thread from Rebecca somebody on how sex is sooooo complicated is missing the point feminism makes completely. Women were oppressed long before chromosomes could be seen, before we had current technology to map many intersex variations.
Men knew who to rape, who child brides were and are, who to deny education to, who to deny property rights, the right to vote, right to have bank accounts ect ect ect. Sex was not complicated enough to blur the line of who experiences sexism.
No trans women or trans girls or cross dressing males or third gender role occupying males faced this systemic sexism. No modern trans women do either. No misogynistic nb White bearded men like the one from Maya’s case do either

If ever leftists express confusion over why leftism is often labeled “Orwellian,” you can point to, among other things, the #istandwithmaya controversy. ICYMI, Maya Forstater was fired for saying sex is binary & immutable. A UK judge ruled her firing justified. Her response:
She is stating scientific facts. There are 2 sexes. Period. The existence of intersex people do not change this. Intersex is a disorder and the exception that proves the rule.
As Orwell said, “In times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a radical act.” It has become radical to say what is scientifically true and what has been common knowledge across cultures for millennia.

With the #IStandWithMaya matter it's worth revisiting this Colin Wright article on recent efforts to deconstruct biological sex
We can acknowledge the existence of very rare cases in humans where sex is ambiguous, but this does not negate the reality that sex in humans is functionally binary. These editorials are nothing more than a form of politically motivated, scientific sophistry.
The formula for each of these articles is straightforward. First, they list a multitude of intersex conditions. Second, they detail the genes, hormones, and complex developmental processes leading to these conditions.

what just happened to JK Rowling?

the definitive thread on questions like

• why is everyone upset?
• what’s wrong with saying sex is real?
• she seems supportive, how is her tweet bad?

...as well as why we're now talking about Hatsune Miku

so, first off, here's her tweet!
it starts off seemingly supportive of LGBT rights, and cryptically ends referring to someone who was forced out of their job for "stating sex is real", followed by a #IStandWithMaya hashtag

so, who is Maya and what happened?
this is my source, by the way, thought I'd link it here if you want to read it yourself

Maya Forstater v CGD Judgement 2019

so, let's jump in and see what this is about

Let's break this down, shall we?

>Dress however you please.

Implies that trans people are playing dress-up.

Also features the tone of an exasperated parent with a stubborn rebel teen.

#JKRowlingHatesTransPeople #JKRowlingIsATerf #JKRowling
>Call yourself whatever you like.

See above.

Also suggests that a person's "real" name is what their parents named them, not a name that person chooses to better reflect that person's true self.
>Sleep with any consenting adult who’ll have you.

Hoo boy:

1. Sex/gender is all about fucking.
2. Queer folks are probably (like) pedophiles.
3. "Most people won't want you, so fuck whomever you can, I guess..."
4. "...but EWWWW!"

The #IStandWithMaya case is completely insane. Completely. Insane. Also, a complete repudiation of the value of free speech and logic. The judge in her case ruled this way:
The belief that is not worthy of respect, to be clear, is that "men cannot change into women." That's what she tweeted. independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-n…
What can magically change a man into a woman? A certificate from the government, of course. What can't government do? It's a magical, magical thing!

We’ve reached dire times, our freedoms are compromised & the target, at the moment, is women who refuse to comply. So count me in. I will not be compelled to call a man a woman & vice versa despite a UK tribunal ruling that such a stance should be punishable.

#IStandWithMaya
UK media has also been corrupted by this ideology. Fantastic piece setting it out. thecritic.co.uk/issues/january…
Gender ideology is making fools of us. We’re expected to wipe clean entire chunks of our knowledge to accommodate it. But there will be a reckoning when the tipping point occurs and mass realisation dawns. Excuses of ‘acting on behalf of an institution’ won’t save those involved.
