3 elementos dando vueltas siempre: límites, preferencias, dd. Ensayos, pasos, info adecuada y suficiente (criterio pedagógico).

I believe we must create a care system where Every
young person truly feels seen, heard and is loved.

I believe a root and branch care review needs to happen in Ireland so we can create a care system that puts love at its centre @rodericogorman.

irishexaminer.com/news/arid-4081…
A review which will explore the underpinning legislation, practices, culture & ethos of the care system. Driven & shaped by the evidence of care experienced people & propose changes to the care system that will improve both the quality of life and outcomes of young people in care
Creating a care system that puts love at its center. The benefits of love in the care system are countless. We would have children who would be able to flourish and reach their potential.

COVID Vaccine #2 DONE!!!

I. Am. So. Relieved.

I had to wait on line to get mine despite an appointment which was AWESOME because so many people were getting it. 🙌🏻

I’m seeing the light at the end of this very long tunnel.
1/?
About 4 hours out and my arm is a bit sore, but not bad.

I’m expecting to have some more symptoms tonight and tomorrow and it’s important that you expect them too when you get your vaccine.
2/?
What I’m expecting to experience:

✅fever and/or chills
✅headache
✅body aches
✅fatigue
✅general flu-like symptoms

I welcome these symptoms w/ open arms 🤗 because it means my body is doing it’s thang & producing antibodies so that I can do my part to kick COVID’s ass! 3/?

Sigh. Where to begin?

In our longitudinal study we showed that w each additional same gender mentor students had 2x greater chance of staying in the geosciences...

But then again we didn't define success as number of papers published... nature.com/articles/s4146…
In our 2018 Geosphere paper we illustrated that with each same gender mentor, undergrads who identify as women increased their likelihood of staying in the field (~25% w 0 mentors, ~75% w 3 or more mentors) pubs.geoscienceworld.org/gsa/geosphere/…
in our 2020 (shorter term) follow up study - we illustrated that students needed to meet #inspirational role models, skills & knowledge to overcome obstacles, & a local mentor nature.com/articles/s4324…

What would you do if you found out your child was viewing pornography?

You’re probably thinking “my kid doesn’t have access to that” or “my kid wouldn’t look at that”.

If that’s what you’re thinking then there is a good chance that you’d be wrong.

Thread. 1/?
The average age of a child the first time they see pornography on the internet is 11 years old. Yes, that’s the average, which means there are still lots of kids younger than 11 that are viewing hard core pornography online.
2/?
Keep in mind that kids don’t have to be looking for pornography; it is programmed to find them. That’s how social media and the internet works. The algorithms work AGAINST our kids, not with them.

I was asked by FB friends to share this post - thoughts on #covid19Canada from #IPAC and #frontlinemom. Breaking it down into a thread, recognizing the challenge to be timely and relevant (and brief?!) in this changing period... 1/n
There remains one constant guiding principle = WASH YOUR HANDS. My favourite message from impressive BC public health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry: "wash your hands like you just cut up a bunch of jalapeños and need to take your contacts out." Yes, yes, protect your eyeballs! (2/n)
Following this week's #WHO declaration of a pandemic (no change in pace of pandemic planning at CHEO) and the first cases of #COVID19 in #YOW (big change in pace!), I reflected on the questions that kept bubbling up. (3/n)

All day today I'll be taking the #StopGapOttawa24hrAccessibilityChallenge ... "spend a day avoiding anywhere that is not accessible" and detail the day on Twitter as I go. So today some tweets will not be transit related.
My current home is only suitable for a person who can climb stairs. Like thousands living in a townhouse, I would have to move if mobility changed. A stair lift is not an option. No ground floor bathing or possible bedroom. #StopGapOttawa24hrAccessibilityChallenge
When my elderly friends visit the steps m are an issue, the condo does not have stair rails at front or rear doors. I'm in process of asking for permission to add them. Not clear if this will be easy or a hassle to get boards approval. #StopGapOttawa24hrAccessibilityChallenge Picture of my front door with it's two steps and no railings.

When I was pregnant, I asked my #antivax parents to get the #whoopingcough #vaccine to protect their grandchild from it. They refused. We got in a big fight & there were lots of tears on both sides.
I told them that #whoopingcough can be deadly for infants & a person can be contagious with it before they show symptoms or know they have it.
I told them the CDC, AAP & my OBGYN recommended any caregiver in regular, close proximity to the baby should be #vaxxed against #whoopingcough. They also recommend the #flu shot, but I wasn't due in flu season and didn't want to have that fight too.
