Audience from #ITVDebate: 6.7 million. Yet received wisdom is it won’t have changed a thing. Hmm.
Anyone who has spent time talking to voters in #ge2019 knows how many are undecided and how many have the slipperiest of attachment to to their current voting intention. You don’t get get so many watching, in an election with fine margins and it not make any difference at all.

Not sure who won that really, if anyone. Suspect the audience would have been quite surprised though that Corbyn was wittier than Johnson, confounding what I suspect would have been their only expectation going in. #ITVDebate
Johnson probably annoyed audience with inartful repeated references to getting Brexit done. But it is, however repetitive, a clear message which resonates. Corbyn didn’t have equivalent, though won on zingers.
Both seemed disliked in equal measure if the audience is anything to go by, which more or less tallies with my travels on the road.
Funny how the one person who insists we can't get on and do the things we need to do until Brexit is completed can't actually talk about any policy other than Brexit, even when they are explicitly asked. #ITVDebate

Keep it brief - Johnson's rambling, elevated lexicon approach is fine for after-dinner speaking but cannot be easily cut for effective bite-sized video. Waffle is ineffective in the soundbite world.

3/ Why so glum, chum? Lighten up - One of many criticisms of Corbyn I have heard is his dour demeanour, unsmiling, hushed and monotone in interviews. Smile a bit more, gesticulate a bit more, be the Corbyn of the dispatch box, not the Marr show.
