Imagine opening your JPS bill, and you owe a whopping J$77,026.40. That's was me last summer. This was close to twice my average.
Solar seemed complicated. Kilowatt hours, inverters, batteries, all Greek. But with my JPS bill through the roof, I HAD to Maths it out.

Here's the key: Buy enough solar panels for day consumption and batteries for the night. I ended up with 17 panels, 1 inverter, and 2 batteries.
The price tag? J$3.5M. I went the bank, borrowed at 10% (J$350k annually or J$30k monthly), and paid the solar company in full.

Marley was born during a time of extreme poverty in Jamaica and was part of this impoverished class. Jamaica only became independent in 1962 and immediately adopted capitalism and was forced into an imperialist relationship with England.
During this time, many in poverty moved to Jamaica’s capital Kingston, where they were forced to live in the sprawling shanty town of Trenchtown. Bob Marley, and fellow Wailer, moved to Trenchtown to finish their education and make a living.

The #Jamaica deport charter flight 2021 left in the early hours of this morning. The #homeoffice originally presented the Jamaican authorities with a list of 90 people they wanted to deport including many who came to the UK as children. After much work by the Jamaican High
Commission in the UK, the Home Office acknowledging that some people were wrongly included on the list and some legal representations, only 7 men, 7, of the original 90, left the UK today. Much will be said/written about this deportation. The Jamaica government, on this occasion,
acted reasonably admirably. The High Commission in particular worked around the clock and through the night on issues to do with people who arrived as children, those with Windrush connections and the risk to Jamaica's public health system due to inadequacies re Covid protocols.

To work out what is needed on #vaccines we need to go back 40 years ago to a key issue pointed out by the Nobel Prize winning Amartya Sen: That when people are hungry - in famine - that is not necessarily imply there is a food shortage. It's most often because of distribution. 2/
