1/ Mariee Juárez was only 21 months old when she died after being held in Dilley Family Detention Center in Texas.

She was a healthy child.

A happy child.

She and her mother fled the violence of Guatemala.

Mariee died on US soil, of medical neglect.

First of the #TrumpSeven:
2/ Mariee at 19mos and her mom entered the US along our Mexico border on March 1 2018, and were transferred to Dilley FOUR days later…

Not THREE as legally mandated.

They were put in a cell with 5 other mothers and their kids, some of whom were sick. Especially one little boy.
3/ By March 11, 2018 — under a week after being imprisoned in a Dilley camp cell — Mariee had an “acute upper respiratory infection,” diagnosed by a physician’s assistant at Dilley.

She was prescribed honey packs and Tylenol.

She did not get better. 💔

Mariee got sick in ICE detention. Two months later, after being released from detention she died of a viral infection. Conditions in detention institutions allow viruses to spread more easily and make it hard to recover. by @taydolven #justiceforMariee news.vice.com/en_us/article/…
