Things I have learned from #katemiddletonsuccessstory saga

1. White Fragility
2. the length people will go to justify racism, other-ing others who don't look like them
3. Black people suffering apologist syndrome

let us start with White Fragility Syndrome
2. In the Book "White Fragility" by Robin DiAngelo

She talks about "The idea of "blackness" has always been necessary to supporting the idea of "whiteness" and its superiority....whites divorce themselves from negative feelings and project these feelings onto blacks. "
3. "In 2011, DiAngelo coined the term “white fragility” to describe the disbelieving defensiveness that white people exhibit when their ideas about race and racism are challenged—and particularly when they feel implicated in white supremacy."

D treatment of Princess Meghan & Duchess Kate is a microcosm of what Black women face daily in white spaces. Dont @ with she's biracial, I respect her designation, but let's be real. Everything they have said to tear her down are the tropes Black ppl/women know as well as they
know their names. This "fight" goes beyond Princess Meghan. We admire her work, her grace but we are not sycophants. We can clearly see what they are trying to do and we will not stand passively by and allow her vilification bc she's "different". If they insist on using every
racist stereotype to 'take her down' we will not stand for it, no decent person will/should. When they thought it ok 2 use a KH 2 represent them, they told us what we already knew. Last week @phildampier decided to scream it loud and proud when he felt the need to write an

Good morning white women complaining this morning about the hashtag that trended about #katemiddletonsuccessstory . Let me educate you today about how insecure your complaining reflect on you

that they didn’t commit. It lead to countless imprisonments, executions and murders of innocent black men. When you didn’t want to be a true woman of the house by taking care of your husbands and children you turned to our black ancestors for this care and still disrespected us.

we will continue to do so. Dumb asses will completely miss the point. Throw the Queen, Anne, or any of the other ones into the white savior mix and they would be the subject of the memes. These folks need to stop feeling themselves as no one is actually
checking for or hating their fave. And while I love Meghan I'm older than her and don't look to her for my cues on how I respond to racism. If the Sussexes didn't like it I would tell them the same thing I've told others. We even have 70 something year old black women in
