...& was an activist for the Propaganda Movement, campaigning for Filipino representation in the Spanish Cortes. Alejandrino was instrumental in copyediting the manuscript of his friend, Rizal's "El filibusterismo" before it was published in Ghent in 1891.

Hailing from Guinobatan, Albay #PH, Ola was born on 2 Sept 1865. Abuses committed by the Spanish colonial gov convinced him to join the local chapter of the #Katipunan. He used his position as teniente de cuadrillos to gather arms & recruit members to the underground movement.
On 2 April 1898, even before the arrival of Aguinaldo from exile, together w/ Gen. Vito Belarmino, and Glicerio Delgado, fought the Spaniards in the Battle of Camalig and won. Ola was promoted to the rank of Captain.

Born to Alejandro Macabulos of Lubao, & Gregoria Soliman of Tondo, Francisco Macabulos was well-versed in classical Spanish literature, & the corrido (#PH metrical romance w/ 8 syllables per line). His plays were staged in Gerona, Camiling, and in many parts of Nueva Ecija.
He joined the #Katipunan via Ladislao Diwa in 1896 just before the outbreak of #PH Revolution, & became a general. While having been picked by Aguinaldo to accompany him in voluntary exile to Hong Kong as per the Pact of Biak-na-Bato in 1897, he chose to stay behind.

As early as January 1892, the underground revolutionary organization, the #Katipunan, was conceptualized. Upon the Spanish order of Rizal's exile to Dapitan in July of that same year, the secret org was formally founded.
Through secret chapters established from Luzon to Visayas & parts of Mindanao, the #Katipunan grew in number, w/ an elaborate cipher for communication, and triangle method recruitment, ensuring the security of the members, should one member implicate the org.

Hailing from Banlat, Balintawak (now in Quezon City) from a well-to-do family of farmers, she was married to Fulgencio Ramos, a cabeza de barangay, and had 6 children. The death of her husband devastated her, but she single-handedly thrived managing the business her husband left.
It was on her backyard that the Cry of #PH Revolution happened. Her son Juan Ramos was a member of the #Katipunan. She generously gave 100 bags of rice, 10 carabaos, & other supplies to the movement, believing in the cause of the Revolution.

Context: Born in the year when the #GOMBURZA were executed, inflaming the anger of Filipinos towards Spanish rule, Santiago was born to his father Mariano, a general of the #PH Revolution, and Nicolasa Virata. He was the couple's only child.
Mariano, his father, had a fair share of discriminatory treatment from Spaniards. Mariano was accused of being involved in the Cavite Mutiny upon finding in his possession an autographed photo of Fr. Jose Burgos, having been imprisoned but later escaped.

Context: Marina Dizon y Batolome was the daughter of Jose Dizon, one of the 13 martyrs (Trece Martires) of Bagumbayan, executed by Spanish authorities on 11 January 1897. She was also a cousin of Emilio Jacinto, one of the high officers of the underground Katipunan.
One night in 1893, Marina, accompanied by Jacinto, and in the presence of Gregoria de Jesus, Josefa & Trinidad Rizal, & nieces Angelica Lopez & Delfin Herbosa (the latter was one of the 3 seamstresses of #PH flag), became a member of the Katipunan.

Context: Pío del Pilar, prior to joining the #Katipunan, was appointed as teniente del barrio of Culi-Culi (in present-day Makati) and was a distributor of Rizal's novels. In May 1896, he joined the Katipunan and rose to the ranks until the outbreak of #PH Revolution in 1896.
He was present at the Tejeros Convention, & initially supported Bonifacio and the Naik Agreement, declaring the Convention null & void, and giving to Pío del Pilar command of all troops. But Del Pilar would eventually switch to Aguinaldo.
