If I was entering tech here are the 5 skills that I would learn in 2022 [Thread]:

#LabEveryday #FreeTechTraining
1. Learn to code:

But what programming language?

The answer depends, but the top 2 are JavaScript and Python. In my opinion, Python will have the most impact on your resume because of how widely it is used in tech. But, if you are into web development then learn JavaScript.
Here are some free Python resources:

Python for Beginners:

Codecademy Python 3: bit.ly/37O6KO2

MIT Python Course: bit.ly/3uFhxmx

10 steps to advance out of entry level tech jobs.

1. Projects - lots of them. You don’t have to lead them. But if you can great. Either way be involved in everything!

2. Higher level certifications - 20 entry level certifications will get you 20 entry level jobs!
3. Be more professional - take yourself and your career serious. Don’t just show up for a check! Show up and show out!

4. Find a mentor - this can be a person, books, videos, or course. Either way find someone that is doing or has done what you want to do and follow them!
5. Challenge yourself - take on more challenging tasks at work. Typical breakfix tickets will not make you grow! Be the person they call when everything goes wrong. Don’t back down!

I have a few things to say this morning. A small but mighty 🧵.
First , I can't say thank you enough to @KatherineJWu for writing this amazing piece highlighting the crucial work of clinical laboratory scientists/medical technologists. Please read it: nytimes.com/2020/12/03/hea…
The article captures a piece of the talent, expertise, and dedication of these healthcare workers. This is especially true of my dear friend @darcyavelasquez, who works relentlessly day in and day out at @ChildrensColo to provide the best care possible to Colorado's children.
Sometimes it feels like the @KatherineJWu's, @kmess44's, and @jesscataldi's of the world are one-in-a-million. The failure to recognize the clinical laboratory (and people within it) for its importance in how healthcare works is not just a #COVIDー19 issue.

Here is a post where I will aggregate all the guides I used to setup my SD-WAN lab.

I used Google Cloud to host the SD-WAN lab. It consumes a lot of resources for a few WAN edges. I recommend setting up a GCP VM with 12 cores/24GB minimum.

1/3
I used the EVE-NG Pro cookbook to set up the lab.
eve-ng.net/index.php/docu… pages 41-50.

Once I set up the VM, I uploaded all the images to the GCP instance.

I then used this guide to get all the controllers up and runnning: pocvlab.com/cisco-sd-wan-c…

2/3
3/3 Once I got all the controllers up, I then used the next blog post to get the WAN Edges (vEdge & cEdge) to communicate with the controllers. The post also walks you though on how to create a smart account.
