Adam in the lions' den. Note Brian Leonard asserting that Israel was involved in 9/11 & I think he means 7/7 in London when he says '9/7'. 'Prime Minister Jeremy Corbyn' is the name of this group.
@CST_UK @antisemitism These groups are very bad places. Does Facebook exercise any control over the hate speech, the falsehoods & the conspiracy theories?
The received opinions in the groups which use Corbyn's name are found still in the Labour Party, informed by siteslike PMJC & many more. Hence an ill-informed & hate-raking motion on Israel got passed at #LabourConference2021.

On the BBC website Laura Kuenssberg has written a gushing adulation of Keir Starmer's performance at #LabourConference2021 which concludes with the assertion that "Keir Starmer has shown a strong conviction to win".

THREAD
It's such a bizarrely flattering interpretation of events, especially given the way Kuenssberg was caught red-handed creating fake news about Starmer's predecessor (a breech of impartiality that she should've been sacked for).

Kuenssberg has switched from creating elaborate 'fake news' deceptions to attack one Labour leader with, to writing reverential venerations of his floundering successor!

People will have their own explanations as to why.

Delegate after delegate on the conference floor speaking against the Starmer rule changes: “MPs don’t need any more power.” #LabourConference2021 Image
.@ShabanaMahmood says that the old rules were deeply problematic. That all those MPs triggered were women or MPs of colour.

“The idea that we as MPs are somehow alien to our communities or our party is just not true.” Image
Mahmood points out PLP is now maj female and most diverse in history: “The idea that we as MPs would deliver you a leadership election which is pale, male and stale- you’re having a laugh.”

We've just tidied up our chart (and rationalised the colours). So far over 230 political representatives have been contacted by their constituents raising concerns about women in prisons.
If you haven't contacted your political representative yet, please do. Here is our statement with background and useful data. There is also a very simple model letter for you to adapt. womansplaceuk.org/2021/07/07/wom… #cervix #womenwontwheesht #lab21 #LabourConference2021
When you have emailed, please complete this very simple form so that we can add this to our data and build a picture of which political representaives care about their constituents' concerns and which do not. docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAI…

It is very hard to believe that @UKLabour are committed to respectful debate when members sign pledges calling for women to be expelled for a belief that #sexmatters or call on MPs not to share platforms with experts like Pragna Patel womansplaceuk.org/2020/06/28/lab…
Or when @UKLabour MPs object to women taking part in public government consultations and misrepresent the concerns being raised - accusing women of ‘hysteria’… womansplaceuk.org/2020/06/16/dea…
Or when @UKLabour student groups attack respected activists and campaigners for attending public webinars or meetings on women’s rights and the Party does nothing… womansplaceuk.org/2020/10/26/edi…

Andrew Marr: "Is someone who thinks that only women have a cervix welcome in the Labor Party?"
Keir Starmer: "We need to have a mature, respectful debate about trans rights."
The question was about WOMEN.
Starmer continues: "Bear in mind that the trans community are among the most marginalised and abused communities."
We will *never* have the respectful, mature debate about trans rights that Starmer claims to want while politicians are unable even to utter the word 'woman'.
This is a women's rights issue - at stake is who should access women's rights, spaces, provisions and on what basis. Responding to questions about women with a lecture on trans oppression is the problem, not the solution. Thank you @AndrewMarr9 for pursuing this. #WomenMatter

"Vichy Starmer

Starmer’s latest slogan – after his ‘WTF’ fiasco was unsurprisingly a catastrophe – appears to be:

Community, family, country
"Starmer claims in his ‘essay’ that these not Conservative ideas – but the words are strongly reminiscent of the motto of the Vichy France government that collaborated with the nazis during the second world war, “Family. Country. Work”:

"Contribute or starve?

The #Labour press release claims that #Starmer’s essay ‘sets out vision for a “contribution society”’ – an idea that will rightly send cold shivers down the spines of this country’s millions of disabled or unemployed people and those in poorly-paid and..

@SadiqKhan says "One of the things about the Labour Party is it’s a chance to debate, discuss, have disagreement in a respectful way". That's not reality for those arguing for women's rights in @UKLabour today.

Respectful discussion must be based on credible, robust evidence. When @SadiqKhan irresponsibly uses discredited statistics on suicide as though they're established fact he's part of the problem - creating a climate where discussion is impossible.

@Womans_Place_UK are still waiting for a response from to their letter (signed by 4k people) asking for an explanation of the removal of @polblonde from her role. How about it, @SadiqKhan @SophieKLinden? Respectful discussion requires engagement.

Time to end the silence on women's rights. A thread. #DontBeADavey

This morning @AndrewMarr9 asked @EdwardJDavey repeatedly "What is wrong with the phrase woman - adult human female?". Davey couldn't even bring himself to say the word 'woman' in response.
Asked about a real woman in his party - @Nat_freespeech who's been banned from standing for any LibDem position - Davey made no response. Still he could only repeat the thought-terminating cliches and mantras taught to him by Stonewall.
crowdjustice.com/case/natalie-b…
This is what erasure looks like. Asked a question about women, or a question about a particular woman, too many politicians dissemble and take refuge in cliches about trans rights. The language we use to name ourselves is being lost, and with it, the ability to discuss our lives.
