Today is Labour Day, but one unlike any other in awhile. The pandemic shined a light on some really important things related to work. I’d like to invite you to join me in reflection on some of the things I think we’ve all learned over the past 6 mos. #LabourDay2020 (1/11)
First, we learned something important about what it means to be an essential service. We’ve learned about the people whose work is absolutely necessary to keep supply chains running and to provide the goods and services that keep us alive and society functioning. (2/11)
First of mind in that group above are our healthcare workers: doctors, nurses, LPNs, nursing aides, paramedics, lab techs, custodial staff and all sorts of medical specialists and technologists. Today, we need to thank them. (3/11) #LabourDay2020

مزدور بولا:میں جن صاحب کی کوٹھی پر مزدوری کر رہاہوں،کل انکی چھٹی ہے۔جس دن انکی چھٹی ہوتی ہےکوٹھی پرآکرایک ایک انچ کاجائزہ لیتےہیں،کوئی نقص نکل آےتو ٹھیکیدارہم مزدوروں کےپیسے کاٹ لیتاہے۔بس یہی پریشانی ہے ۔ ۔
مزدور بولا:میں جن صاحب کی کوٹھی پر مزدوری کر رہاہوں،کل انکی چھٹی ہے۔جس دن انکی چھٹی ہوتی ہےکوٹھی پرآکرایک ایک انچ کاجائزہ لیتےہیں،کوئی نقص نکل آےتو ٹھیکیدارہم مزدوروں کےپیسے کاٹ لیتاہے۔بس یہی پریشانی ہے ۔ ۔
اورتم بتاؤتم کیوں پریشان ہو؟"
بیوی بولی:جن ڈاکٹرصاحبہ کےگھرمیں کام کرتی ہوں،کل انکی چھٹی ہے۔جس دن انکی چھٹی ہوسر پرکھڑےہوکرکام کرواتی ہیں۔ کہتی ہیں کہ ایک ایکtileمیں تمہاری شکل نظرآنی چاہیے۔پتہ نہیں کل کس بات کی چھٹی ہے!"

Revolutionary Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar was the first person who brought “Equal pay for equal work irrespective of the sex” in India in terms of Industrial workers as a Labour Minister in the Viceroy executive council.

Ambedkar framed many laws for women workers in India such as ‘Mines Maternity Benefit Act’, ‘Women Labour Welfare Fund’, ‘Women and Child Labour Protection Act’, ‘Maternity Benefit for Women Labour’ & ‘Restoration of Ban on Employment of Women on Underground Work in Coal Mines’

The organisers of this ‘Black Flag' protest were required to mark spots for people to maintain distance from each other and provide face masks.
They were not protesting ‘corruption’ as I suggested above, but coalition negotiators btw Netanyahu & Gantz.
