Though I came to know about various aspects of leadership through this course, I still perceive it as a completely different ballgame altogether.

Instead of what management experts and leadership gurus feel—no I'm not saying they are completely wrong—I've just a different way of seeing things.

As a #leader, everything you say (and don't say) and do (and don't do) is magnified- maybe even disproportionately. You cast a large shadow and take up more space in others' minds than you think.

Why every #leader needs a customer service stint?
#Empathy, compassion, listening with patience, the willingness to express gratitude and accept mistakes are some of the soft skills that #leaders need to lead happy teams.
Jerks cannot be good #leaders. People #management is about people. You cannot excel at people management if you lack empathy and compassion.

The lack of empathy, or inability to feel pain the same when someone's skin is black/high malanin and you see them in pain, is literally documented in studies as well as a simply real life disparities.

by touting "empathy"
you can self-appoint yourself as "good"
with "but I am a good person"
or "but she was nice to so and so, therefore"
and deny racism and, more importantly
NOT CHANGE structures or policy

The folks who are anti-diversity need to update their tired playbook.
Sharing space for win-wins is not the same as hating people in a space.
Violating professional ethics by trying to diagnose via Twitter only damages own professional reputation by displaying poor judgment.

The time to have diagnosed by Twitter was here - instead of holding leadership accountable, people scrambled to put guardrails and install people to be "adults" in the room to reassure the public.

Today, the 15 October, 31 years ago, one of #the_sons_of_the_soil, #a_Pan_Africanist, a teacher and an anti-apartheid political activist, tata #Jafta_Kgalabi_Masemola was released from jail, after having served over 26 (nearly 27) years in prison for his political convictions.
Tata #Jeff as he was fondly called, was incarcerated on #Robben_Island, where he spent his entire stay there, locked in the #30_single_cell_section (popularly known as B-Section) of the Island prison, a section where most of the prominent political prisoners were kept.
B-section, an isolation section of the Island prison, was where all the #Rivonia_trialists (i.e. Nelson Mandela, Govan Mbeki, Walter Sisulu etc) were kept. #Masemola was in this section with other PAC cadres, like #Mlamli_Makwetu, #Nyathi_Pokela, #Selby_Ngendane, #Kwedi_Mkalipi

What's up with $SGMO valuation? This thread will try to show some history and the setup for what I still hope to be an outsized move. First worth noting that news will always trump technicals. First here is a month chart I've been using for the company 1/
This being a 10 year chart, it doesn't show how long $SGMO has been around but it does show virtually no trading volume and a 3 yr ceiling on the price as they were in early development stage while trying to get ill-chosen indications into pre/clinic 2/
The first wave $SGMO rally started in 2013 when the ceiling was broken. The company was talking up #GeneEditing #GeneRegulation #HIVcure and #diabetes None were ready but the volume picked up and the first big rally ensued going from around $9 to $20 3/
