[Thread] This is a follow-up analysis to the one I did on 1st September. Today @BorisJohnson tweeted once again on the hashtag #LeaveOct31 [See screenshot]. He sent an identical tweet on 10th September too. Here I analyse 5942 tweets sent both today (13th) and on the 10th. 
In my original thread I found that around 8% of accounts retweeting Boris Johnson's #LeaveOct31 were accounts supporting Donald Trump. Three days later, I discovered that 25% of retweets of another Boris tweet were performed by MAGA Trump supporters #StopTheBrexitCoup

2) Are the same Brexit trolls also active on other hashtags, such as #TrudeauMustGo, or Iran-related issues? In other words, are the same accounts roaming from divisive hashtag to divisive hashtag? If so, it could point to an organized, international influence campaign...

[Thread] 1) Tonight's thread is on the "Make Iran Great Again" Hashtag and its subsidiaries, e.g. #MIGA. This hashtag is being used by an opposition movement called Restart, led by Mohammad Hosseini, who reminds me of a 90s TV magician. The thread, is of course, ridiculous #Iran
2) The sample analysed is taken from the period between 25th August-3 September. It consists of approx 27,000 tweets from around 3,300 accounts. I'm not an Iran expert, but with Restart you need to know that they encourage ppl to lead regime change in Iran voiceofrestart.com/about/
4) First up. There appears to be no real distance between the MIGA accounts and the MAGA accounts. The most active account on the hashtag is actually called @persia_bot - which blatantly has MIGA and MAGA in the bio. Persia bot seems just to retweet everything pro-Restart
[Thread] Evening to those following #BrexitShambles. In part 2 of my @BorisJohnson Tweet Analysis (I absolutely refuse to use the term 'deep dive'), I have analysed approximately 900,000 of Bojo's Twitter followers. Why you ask? Well who knows what you may find... #HouseOfCommons
@BorisJohnson Of the 900,000 followers analysed (he has around a million), around 53,000 joined Twitter in July and August 2019. That's around 6%. You can see a clear spike at that time on the graph, well above the average no. created per month, and one standard deviation. What does this mean?
@BorisJohnson Remember, the graph shows when people JOINED Twitter, not FOLLOWED Boris Johnson. If this was a sample of Tweets in a hashtag, it would be highly likely that most of these accounts are fake followers or bot accounts, designed in this case to boost Bojo's follower base, and ego

[Thread] I analysed around 13,000 retweets of Boris Johnson's tweet that read "The referendum result must be respected. We will leave the EU on 31st October. #LeaveOct31". He tweeted this twice, once on 15th Aug and again on 27th. The following is what I found: #StopTheCoup
Firstly, the first time he retweeted it it got Retweeted around 11.8k times: The second time, it received around 8.3k (see pic). So 13,000 retweets is not bad considering the total of around 20,000 tweets. At first, I was interested in automated accounts retweeting it (bots)
