This package is for students with an electronic device who can enroll in online courses. It includes guidelines to help female students in Afghanistan banned from education to sign up for courses offered by tens of schools worldwide.

#Taliban Minister of Higher Education on his supposed official page posts his sermon blaming King Amanullah Khan and Zahir Shah for bringing the western formula of sending #girls to #schools. This was a prescription for promiscuity within #Afghanistan 1/
He says religious scholars stood up against them stating that this was in contradiction with #Islam, Afghan culture and our national honour. This is the mindset of the ministers while we call for #LetAfghanGirlsLearn. We truly are fighting an uphill battle 2/
It is also extremely disheartening to note that this Minister is not just a common Talib but one that is a Sheikh ul Hadith. If the scholars of the government think women should not leave their houses then how can the movement ever steer itself in a more sensible direction? 3/

Mehrafza, a 16 years old high school student, wanted to become a journalist. Her hopes are vanished. She says, “I am very hopeless. I had so many hopes, but now I feel my future is dark and uncertain. My rights as a human being are taken away.”

Mehrafza has three more sisters who are also school students. Due to the ban on girls education, they cannot go to school and pursue their dreams. Her sisters are very concerned. Among them is a 21 year old who is blind. She used to go to school and learn skills.
Her blind sister is also staying at home. Their father sells fruits & vegetables on a cart in Kabul city. They are a family of 8 persons. The humanitarian crisis has struck them hard. Her father barely earns between 100-200 Afghanis. He has to feed the family, pay the rent,

My team went to Tango Camp, a village where more than 400 families live. 50 families (15 widows & 35 ultra-poor families) were identified. The team will continue identifying more families for the food drive and will be added to this #Thread

Learn currently has two schools that are operating, Soraya school and Yalda school. Each has 60 students enrolled with hopes of future expansion.
