To simplify a lot of the discussion about #college majors, cost, debt, the #liberalarts etc. I wish this very clear fact was better understood . . .
The schools with the fewest professional training programs have the highest post-grad job placement outcomes. 1/3
Fewer choices and a greater emphasis on "impractical" subjects is an indicator of better employment outcomes.

(Also, #liberalarts programs have the best retention and completion outcomes.)

It's not as simple as this -- there are admittedly many factors for individual cases -- but if you had to lay down a bet on just one proposed truism, this should be it:
A broad-based liberal arts education is the best preparation for lifelong career success.
