Racism = the implementation of structural, systemic, legal and/or political hierarchy of human belonging based on arbitrary physical features. #LiberatingEvangelicalism 2/ 
Racism = the #racialization of society’s systems and structures by #intent OR by #impact. 3/#LiberatingEvangelicalism
To all the people, designated White by colonizing nations, who are becoming disillusion by your evangelical or Christian faith: When you walk away from Jesus you are not #woke. You are operating out of the white supremacy you say you abhor. 1/ #LiberatingEvangelicalism
When you walk away from Jesus and Christian faith to be “woke” you are walking away from a faith that sprang from brown, indigenous, colonized people. You’re walking away from faith born on the underside of empire in the context of oppressed peoples. 2/ #LiberatingEvangelicalism
You’re walking away from the faith of enslaved people who found such profound liberation in Jesus that they broke laws to gather together and worship in #trees! 3/
Today I tweeted more than I ever do in response to some issues around #DecenteringWhiteness and #LiberatingEvangelicalism It is interesting to see the responses generated, especially the assumptions underlying many of them
interesting too because of the unwillingness? inability? for respondents to respond to what was actually said.
I suspect many of them think I am probably a theologically liberal SJW type who plays fast and lose with the biblical text in order to justify all manner of heterodox positions -- even when I explicitly state my agreement with them.
Need to unpack two concepts brought together by this question: 1) Decentering 2) Whiteness. #LiberatingEvangelicalism #insession 1/

Now, #whiteness. Whiteness is a POLITICAL construct, created to order our world in such a way as to bestow full benefits of citizenship and humanity upon people deemed white by the state. 3/ #LiberatingEvangelicalism .@Evang4Justice @FreedomRoadus
