Over 100 #Wildfires Burn Across #Trudeau-#UNfriendly Province, #Alberta | May 7
- A reminder that an #election approaches in this province, and that Danielle #Smith, the relatively new premier, has been a major #critic of the Trudeau government.

I know, it’s just pure coincidence the province with 1.7 trillion barrels of #oil, with a premier who said they would get rid of the #carbontax, who said no to the fed #gun grab and who said no to the Fed interfering with resource devt

The forest #fires in #Alberta are serious, all the jibber jabber from the left blaming #Smith or the Forestry is just that, J-j. In Modern history never have so many fires started at all once so close to so many communities.

today, EthnoFest in #Tbilisi (alas only realized it happening late afternoon), with plenty of great things you can get if you
-- enjoy #crafts
-- want to support local business, or
-- are thinking abt gifts already
Below some of my favourites. 1/n Image
This won the overall prize (congrats!!!) & was my favourite: fairly simple, evocative of #Tbilisi & #Batumi #architecture, nice #lighting addition somewhere in a flat, neat product. 2/n Image

1. At this time solidarity is important and gestures of solidarity are welcome. But when crores light lamps, we caution that there is a huge prospect of violation of physical distancing (as witnessed on March 22nd).
2. A major worry is false inference, with claims of mass-lighting leading to a solution for #COVID19 pandemic. Viruses interact with molecules, cells, and tissues in a purely physical & chemical manner. No evidence that shouting, singing, or #lighting, will influence these actions
3.We urge the govt to substantially widen scope of testing. All over the world, enhanced testing rates have enabled identification of asymptomatic patients, helped allocate resources, made physical distancing more effective, & provided crucial input to epidemiological projections

1/6: Another interesting presentation from the 8th @VELUX Daylight Symposium on the relationship between daylight & the indoor #microbiome

#daylight #daylighting #wellness; also reported on at @ArchDaily

2/6: The associated peer-reviewed study (accessed here: microbiomejournal.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.11…) found little difference comparing the impact of visible vs ultraviolet light w/in daylight on the microbial communities found w/in indoor dust.

#daylight #daylighting #microbiome
3/6: However, it did find #daylight likely does have an impact on the composition of these communities. But there’s still a great deal to learn regarding the duration of exposure, intensity levels, ventilation, humidity, building materials, occupancy, microbial compositions, etc.
