Als das MWB im Jahr 2000 in das #Akademienprogramm aufgenommen wurde, war immerhin auch eine halbe IT-Stelle eingeplant. Die reicht aber leider kaum aus, um die regulär anfallenden Aufgaben zu erledigen. (jr)
Neue Entwicklungen in den #DigitalHumanities zu begleiten und Standards für unser Projekt umzusetzen, braucht zusätzliche Mittel. Das gilt auch für die Einrichtung persistent referenzierbarer Daten nach modernen Gepflogenheiten. (jr)
I thought I'd share a bit about what @eltonteb and I are up to with #PeripleoLite, a new JavaScript viewer for geospatial #LinkedOpenData (thread!) 
#Peripleo is designed to work with data in the #LinkedPlaces and #LinkedTraces formats. (The former is a GeoJSON-flavour, the latter is based on W3C Web Annotations.) github.com/LinkedPasts/li… github.com/LinkedPasts/li…
So what about "Traces"? Traces are things linked to places. A Trace might be your average points-on-a-map dataset (e.g. locations of inscriptions), but also something more complex. In this project, we were specifically interested in geo-tagged text.

The study of plants' influence on human societies has two interesting qualities that drove the design of this site. First, it is inherently interdisciplinary, stretching from the arts through the humanities deep into the sciences. 2/x
At the workshop that was the inspiration for this project (vimeo.com/254555201), Peter Crane of @oak_spring said, "Interdisciplinarity comes most naturally when you've got a focus: a plant, a place, something concrete that people can bring different perspectives to." 3/x

@EdinburghUni I was invited along with 13 other ‘problem holders’ to the annual ‘Data Fair’ hosted by the Data Science for Design MSc.
Had just 5 mins to pitch a real world dataset for students on the course to work on in groups to tell engaging stories with as a 6wk project. Worked great.
