I’m going to correct some of the misinformation that’s out there by using the correct wording:

1) Lecce is INCREASING the class average in gr. 9-12 from 22 to 23, which will still mean classes of 35-40 in High School and more lost jobs.
2) Lecce is allowing parents to go through a tedious process to opt their children out of the 2 MANDATORY E-Learning courses.
3) Lecce is REDUCING the funding for Special Education to allow funds for STEM & Mental Health. (All valid expenditures but each should have their own $)
4) Lecce is REDUCING the budget for education and ADDING the Child Tax Credit to the numbers to make it LOOK like it’s increased.
5) Lecce is REDUCING the ‘per student’ funding by $54.

I’m still confused when I read tweets from people who complain about teachers and their unions being selfish and hurting the kids. Do a little research. It isn’t hard to do. Our kids do it every day. I will try to make this simple.
The @fordnation wants to reduce education spending by reducing education workers. Most people say “so what, classes are going to be bigger. No big deal.” Less teachers means less classes and less choice. In high school, 1 less teacher means 6 less classes in year.
Remember folks, we can’t put 30-40 students in a room unsupervised. Those classes are GONE. Which classes are going to be removed? Mostly single section, specialty classes. You know, the classes that most students look forward to attending.

I keep saying it... but for those of you that begrudge a teacher their calendar, we do not set it... . For those of you that say... if it is "for the kids, 3/

Here's a thread for what teachers are asking for because I am sick of #lyingLecce and the PC hacks who put party before people:
Teachers want the ratio of classes to stay 22:1 with the flexibility for board needs as enrollment changes. For those saying they turned out fine and they had 34 kids in their classes - there will still be 34 kids in some classes. 22 is an average not a cap.
Teachers want e-learning to be an OPTION, not mandatory. Our students are not guinea pigs, and should not be test subjects for mandatory online learning, which is only done in the worst (literally last place in Ed) States south of our border. We want elearning to be taught by...
