X : Have you taught mapping at Microsoft?
Me : A couple of times over the years. Why?
X : Who did you meet?
Me : Lots of people. Here's me talking mapping, cloud, open source and all that good stuff. Long conversation, many hours, long ago. Why?
X : Is that ...
Me : Yes. Why?
X : I met this person at Microsoft who said they knew your mapping.
Me : Oh. It's a big company. Mapping has spread quite far. Is it really that surprising?
X : How common is mapping?
Me : No idea.
X : You're not a fan of Microsoft?
Me : I was, then I wasn't then I was again. Microsoft is doing fine, no.2 in serverless, no.2 in cloud. A lot of good friends work there. They've certainly changed as a company. All good stuff.

The complete index for #MapCamp2020 ... slides and videos included. Some is still going up but this will be the source for it all -… ... thank you to the speakers and @lefep for making this happen.
X : Is #MapCamp going to be virtual going forward?
Me : Yes. We've started that transition. We will grow from here. There are many lessons to learn and may additional things that we can do to turn it into a truly global festival of mapping. This was the beginning of that journey.
But as important as learning about the new world, there are also many things we need to unlearn. As with three perspectives on one topic, because of the timezones then we will need three community driven mapcamps merging into one. Each with its own perspective but shared values.

12 talks, 36 speakers ... help yourself -…. Huge thanks to @lefep for getting this up there.
So each of the 12 session has three speakers covering the same topic. Three perspectives to every talk. I cannot emphasise enough how grateful I am to our wonderful community and speakers for giving up the time to make this happen. Thank you all for making #MapCamp2020.

Well, that's a wrap for #mapcamp2020 ... time to go have a sneaky G&T and then ... well, I've an early start tomorrow. 0730 research call on robotics.

Thank you all for attending and for our wonderful speakers. Videos should be up soon. I do hope you enjoyed it.
A special #MapCamp2020 shout-out to our two chairs - @MajorDamo and @coderinheels, the organising committee and also the person who just makes this stuff happen, the ever marvellous @JaneKingston.
Finally, a huge thank you to our sponsors and in particular @lefep (and the parent company @DXCTechnology) for making map camp happen. It was a wonderful event ... but then I'm highly biased.
