It's the second shipwreck off Mauritius in less than a year, after a tanker hit a reef in July and spilled 1,000 tons of fuel in the country's worst-ever environmental tragedy.
After becoming stranded off Pointe-aux-Sables, in the northwest of the main island, not far from the capital Port Louis, the captain of the Lurong Yuan Yu issued distress calls and sent up flares late Sunday afternoon.
