@socrates1024 @neha @ittaia @kanzure @dahlia_malkhi @Libra_ @LivepeerOrg @YondonFu @gnosisPM @AFDudley0 @AriJuels @initc3org 7b/ @arijuels looking into the game theory of these DEX arbitrage bots.

- Bots tend towards an equilibria (w.r.t. gas price)
- There are Wall St.-like latency wars! (Bots have started to do more raises over time.)

A great reminder that DEX arbitrage is just the tip of the iceberg—only .1% of total volume. See @BitwiseInvest report for example of CEX. (95% of reported volume is fake!)

- Creating GasToken (used by bots)
- Publishing blog post (which brought more attention!)

Milojević: Across the board, the days of the single author paper are increasingly behind us. Science teams are getting bigger.

It's not necessarily that bigger teams are more productive, but that more productive teams get bigger.

Milojević: While most fields have greater interdisciplanarity with bigger teams, that's not true for highly specialized fields, like high energy physics.

Side conversation from lunch question w/ @SydWood13:

Things have been pretty "tame" at #metascience2019. Not a whole lot of of (public, anyway) controversy/argument/fighting. Seems weird, given that we're a critical argument-prone bunch.

What fights do you want to see?

Last talk of day 2: James Evans from KnowledgeLab talking to us @ #metascience2019 about “the social limits of scientific certainty.”

How can we scale up scientific logic to address All the Data? How does Science As a System think?
Evans: dense social connections distort certainty. Professional networks shape judgements in peer review; scientific validity is a sociological phenomenon. Clustered tastes are clustered epistemologies: centralized communities generate less replicable results. #metascience2019
Evans is moving very quickly through some complicated info visualizations. He’s doing cliometrics, discourse analysis, media reviews - but I am not sure at all about what these datasets are, or what specific methods there are for this. #metascience2019
