Reason 1: The Competition...
One of my main inspirations and favourite metroidvanias is Hollow Knight. Hollow Knight costs around 15$ and when Im honest, my game is by far not that good and polished.
So I knew that my game had to be cheaper.

Reason 2: I know my Audience :)
I posted a lot on Tiktok and I wanted to target younger players. Ofcouse, I really want to earn money to make a living of Indiegames one day, but on the other side I want that everyone can experience Makis Adventure. So I wanted to be under 10$ :)

I accidently built a PixelArt-Editor into my #Indiegame and drew a Charmander because people in my Stream challenged me to do that...

Reason 1: The Genre
My game is a 2D-Platformer, which is a pretty oversaturated genre on Steam. The competition was HUGE and the chance to have success with a game of that genre is super small!

Reason 2: Time Management
Im a solo dev, so I had to handle everything on my own. I spent way more time developing the game and marketing started way too late. Also the conversion rate was absolutely terrible for me, so thats a thing I need to keep in mind!

Analizando sobre los aspectos que más se recuerda en un videojuego, creo uno de ellos es el inicio, sobre todo los primeros bosses. Lo que más veía en los arcades era primeras fases completadas. Después tocaba echar más monedas porque la dificultad se disparaba. Todo pensado.
Busco un homenaje al primer boss, por permanecer en la memoria más que el propio boss final, una quimera para los menos habilidosos. Pensadlo, de lo que más se habla de un juego nuevo es sobre cómo comienza. En la primera fase se resume lo bueno que va a aportar un videojuego.
Aunque, todo sea dicho, hay juegos donde ya el primer boss (o incluso enemigo) es ya de otro nivel. Poca compasión la de estos japos. Desahogan su estrés con nosotros, los jugadores, que lo confiesen.

El más caro vale $180 y dura unas 100 horas. Hay indies, RPGs, juegos japoneses, aventuras de acción, multijugador - lo que se te ocurra.

Lanzado en 1992 para la consola de #SEGA, este cartucho de #MegaDrive fue probablemente el primer videojuego cooperativo que jugué en mi vida. Y qué mejor forma de comenzar el año rejugándolo y recordando viejos momentos de mi infancia. 🙂
