Before Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Yeoh's early U.S. film debut was with the James Bond franchise. Yeoh later revealed how depleting/damaging the experience was for her.

What I recall, because of my work on Chinese IT history, was the strange cameo made by a Chinese computer, in which the presumed otherness/alterity/strangeness/absurdity of Chinese IT was on display /3

"I think what really drives [the popularity of the #multiverse in #scifi] is regret... There's a line in @allatoncemovie where #MichelleYeoh is told she's the worst version of herself."

"I don't think we should resist melting brains. I think we should just bite the bullet."
"When you measure the spin of an electron, or the position...what happened to all of the other things you could have seen? Everett's idea is that they're all real. They all become real in that measurement."

"At the level of the equations there is zero ambiguity, but the metaphors break down. The two universes it splits into aren't as big as the original universe. The thickness of the two new universes adds up to the thickness of the original universe."

Michelle Yeoh is brilliant. She long has been. She has deservedly been nominated for an Oscar for her role in #EverythingEverywhereAllAtOnce

No Asian woman has won Best Actress Oscar. Ponder on that.

She is exquisitely brilliant in this film!

How many films do you know that centre an Asian woman in her 50s?

As Michelle Yeoh puts it, “... an aging Asian immigrant woman. When was the last time you saw that, right?” npr.org/2022/04/08/109… #MichelleYeoh #EverythingEverywhereAllAtOnce
Women of colour–older ones at that– are rarely allowed options and yet here is Evelyn with multiple universes, unbeknownst to anyone, including herself.

"As time went by—I turned 60 last year—and I think all of you women understand this: As the days, years, numbers get bigger, the opportunities get smaller as well..." Congratulations, Michelle Yeoh #GoldenGlobes
Predictably, every award show, you get headlines like this: i.e. older women "looking good for their age." Headline: Golden Globes: Angela Bassett and Salma Hayek pro
I care more about older women winning awards and addressing the ageism that for too long kept them from the roles that brought them those much-deserved awards harpersbazaar.com/culture/film-t… #GoldenGlobes

Re-watched 'Everything Everywhere All at once (EEAO) ' incase I missed something but I couldn't find any or maybe I'm still basking in the Euphoria of how good it is. I'll try again in 2 months or three.
The pacing, the musical scores, casting & fight scenes (I call it Funfu) are well thought out & choreographed.

Takes me back to Michelle Yeoh's (main character) 90s Karate movies era - oooh, the good old days.
And the amazing thing is that, Michelle is a dancer with no formal martial arts training.

When she has fight scenes, she relies on her dancing chops & on set trainers. But she obviously picked up a few Funfu moves along the way.
