🧵Today we are expanding our #ThereIsHelp notification service for people in need of legal advice relating to Freedom of Expression in 🇹🇭, as we learnt many of them are not fully aware of their legal rights or how to seek help from existing resources:
According to @TLHR2014, more than 635 people (incl. 40 under 18 years old) have been charged for political involvement and expression since the Thai youth rallies on in 2020; some were without legal representation at the time of arrest.
We strongly believe that people are entitled to freely express their political opinions. Our service relies on a free and #OpenInternet which in turn enables greater participation in civic events, such as the #MilkTeaAlliance, peaceful demonstrations and elections.

Arria meetings are the lowest common denominator & least formal options available to the Security Council & pretty much anyone can convene one any time. It is a travesty that it has taken 65 days to hold one & that there has still been no formal agenda item added to the Council.
As the 'penholder' on Burma, and the rotating president of the Council in February, @UKUN_NewYork bears much responsibility for this failure of diplomacy & failure of leadership. Two months, and 600 lives lost, because of weak leadership on the part of the so-called like-minded

#Myanmar military junta terrorist staged a coup back in February 1. And the people have been protesting against the coup and fighting for democracy since then. But the terrorists have killed over 320 people (the youngest was 7 years old), and have detained nearly 3000 activists..

The old lady was called Daw MhwarSi, aged 66. She was stopping the SAC group from dragging her son away, and she got shot in chest and her arms. And she died on spot. 1/
Khit Thit also reports that the SAC group has also beaten and assaulted a man. The conditions of the man is still unknown. 2/
