The game had its origin in India and was called #Moksha Patam or Parama Padam or Mokshapat. It was used to teach Hindu Dharma and Hindu values to children. The British renamed it #snakes and #Ladders.

The game was created by the 13th-century poet saint Gyandev. The ladders in
the game represented virtues and the #snakes indicated vices. The game was played with cowrie shells and dices. Later through time, the game underwent several modifications but the meaning is the same i.e good deeds take us to heaven and evil to a cycle of re-births. Certain
references take the game back to the 2nd century BC.

In the original game square, 12 was faith, 51 was Reliability, 57 was Generosity, 76 was #Knowledge, and 78 was Asceticism. These were the squares where the ladder was found. Square 41 was for Disobedience, 44 for Arrogance,

The game #SnakesandLadders had its origin in India and was called Moksha Patam or Parama Padam or Mokshapat. It was used to teach Hinduism and Hindu values to children.

The British copied the idea and renamed it as Snakes and Ladders.
#SnakesandLadders originated in India as a game based on morality called

Vaikuntapaali - stairs to Vaikuntha, or Paramapada Sopanam - ladder to salvation

It was not just a fun game. It was based on the idea of teaching morality to kids. This teaching needs to be reintroduced
The morality lesson of the game -

a person can attain salvation #Moksha through doing good
by doing evil one will inherit rebirth to lower forms of life

In my view it was the easiest way of teaching the rule of salvation

The 13th century poet saint #Gyandev created a children's game called #MokshaPatam. The British later named it #Snakes_And_Ladders & diluted the entire knowledge - instead of the original #MokshaPatam.
In the original one hundred square game board,

Beyond the Veil - The #Ayyappan Sankalpa — A Long Thread !
The #SabarimalaTemple is many centuries-old and hosts an ancient deity, Sastha — #Ayyappan the main Vigraha (idol) of the temple, the deity is worshipped in the form of a Naishtika Brahmachari
This temple is not a prayer hall but is an energy centre; the Vigraha of #Ayyappan is not the representation of a God who is omnipresent, but as a source of energy (Chaithanya) from a mystical dimension.
