#MyLibraryStory a thread cause @lesleybruinton asked me to share. My mother would take us to the @tpl_weaver branch of @TuscaloosaBooks once a week EVERY summer. There we met an amazing angel Olympia McCracken. She gave me books to read and space to discuss them.
#MyLibraryStory I remember going into this "big" space and she let me read whatever I wanted to! That was powerful for me. I was a nerd kid and this was a space where I could be ME.
She saw something in my sibs and I and we were a part of the Reading Rainbow campaign in Tusc. We gave book talks that were recorded and put on tv. I have a friend who still talks about that spot and my pigtails and glasses that has to still exist somewhere. #MyLibraryStory
