It is a Diwali tradition at IUCAA that second year students will choose the annual theme, and decorate IUCAA with traditional diyas and rangoli, but with a contemporary twist. All students and postdocs at IUCAA team up to create this Diwali magic.

The real heroes who deserve to be celebrated are the skilled crafts communities integral to #preservation #conservation of #heritage #sites #monuments and #museums across the world. These are photos from the #NalandaUniversity, a #UNESCO #WorldHeritageSite in #Bihar in 2013
Here, when we had gone on a research trip as the Bihar Museum #design team, we had found #craftsmen making bricks and sculptures to help in the restoration of the 1500 year old site. We thought this was extremely imp as the process was similar
I had suggested that this process be filmed and displayed as part of ‘continuing traditions’ in the new Museum. Thankfully, this was accepted and a film has been made 😊

Starting a series of #tweets where sharp price falls have happened. Could be due to #fundselling #margins etc. Not a buy/sell recommendation but to check for is the #price fall due to distress seller or the company is in #distress.
#NRBBearings stock price has dropped 50% in less than a month. Down 15-20% today. Promoters 52-53% , Institutions 38-40% including #Nalanda holds 10% #HDFC owns 9% of equity. Hardly 6-7% holding of Retail Investors. Is it fund selling or sensing disruption?
So here comes the reason. Pledge shares being sold it seems.

Hemispherical dome(Anda) emerging from lotus form third tier of of stupa and in all likelihood, this is the form which inspired the great dome of Gol Gumbaj in Bijapur and all buildings of the region. Stupa were often modelled after actual temples.

In Shershah Suri tomb in Sasaram we can observe this general arrangement. Square plinth or lower tier, octagonal second tier and third being hemispherical dome topped by large Kalasha similar to Lingraj temple's Kalasha.
