I dissociated when I was being psychologically, emotionally & spiritually abused by Andy Wood & Filipe Santos in his office. Later, it was reframed that I was demon possessed w/ the spirit of Jezebel & I had been wounded b4. They say they were “super gentle.” I’ve had multiple 🧵
survivors of abuse at Echo church at the hands of these two pastors tell me their stories of psychological abuse in their office where they were bullied, intimidated, coerced, belittled, gaslit silenced, called names, etc. in a clear pattern over many years. Many are in 🧵

I found little about negotiating #severance when I needed it, so after spending $1500 and a month working with a lawyer to negotiate mine, and ultimately walking away, I'm sharing some thoughts and what I learned. 🧵👇

I'm happy to empathize as I have bandwidth, but I’m not a lawyer, and my experience was in California. Here’s the list of California employment lawyers recommended to me. Avoid lawyers that also may have done work for the company that terminated your employment.

𝗧𝗛𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗: Can @BabylonHealth Be Trusted?

‘Bad Bot' (part 3): The final chapter in the @BadBotThreads...

1/37
Just to be clear, I don’t ‘hate’ @babylonhealth (hate is emotive & suggests a lack of objectivity). However I do not trust Babylon - & in my opinion - Babylon has not demonstrated the ethical or moral values expected of an #AI #HealthTech corporation.
2/37
It’s important to note that the ‘corporate’ failings of the @babylonhealth are as consequence of decisions taken by a tiny minority of the senior leadership team - & are not in any way a reflection on Babylon’s employees or clinical services.

I published this piece yesterday about the global push to stop #NDAs covering up sexual misconduct in the workplace. This reform is long-awaited and sorely needed. A thread (1/10)

I first met the inimitable @ZeldaZeldaluna in 2018. It was a year since she broke her NDA to speak out about film producer Harvey Weinstein. I'd heard about her case, but only through interviewing her did I truly understand how damaging NDAs can be (2/10) ibanet.org/Conferences/30…
She's worked tirelessly to advocate for their reform in the UK and beyond. She introduced me recently to @ProfJulieMac who has an equally inspirational backstory. Barely any legal reform on NDAs has happened since #MeToo and #TimesUp @cbmsilence hopes to change that (3/10)

I fully support @rcfp but I'm very concerned abt this legislative effort, which I will detail separately. I understand desire to protect media. I don't understand highlighting prosecutions of "journalistic sources" in their write-up as if legislation wld impact prior cases. /1
These prosecuted "journalistic sources" (which included former clients of mine) had authorized access to #classifiedinfo & signed #NDAs. Legislation would still allow every prior prosecution, would it not? So why hype as if govt did something wrong?

Am I missing something? 2/2

TW: rape, assault

Months in the making and the most important ⁦@BBCNews⁩ investigation I’ve done. These students were terrified to speak out — at the risk of being sued. One student is currently under a formal threat of expulsion if she goes public. bbc.com/news/uk-514476…
Nearly 1/3 of UK unis have used #NDAs for student complaints since 2016— including false advertising of courses and facilities, lack of disability support, poor teaching and handling of sexual assault allegations — which students say has been even more traumatic than their attack
Around 300 students have signed NDAs across 45 #universities — which have paid out more than £1.3m. One payout alone was at least £40k. And this is a big underestimate — unis haven’t been fully transparent and some of our students aren’t even included in those numbers.

Hi. I’m Gemma, proud working mum of 2 and cofounder of @UKCultureShift. I thought I’d properly introduce who I am and what we do. #CultureShift is our #TechForGood business whose mission is to positively change culture. Our first product is called @reportsupport_ Image
It’s an #onlinereportingsystem which allows those who have experienced or witnessed any kind of #harassment or #abuse to report it and find the support they need ❤️
From an organisations point of view it allows you to respond to situations more effectively as well as monitor and tackle any worrying #culturaltrends.
