Today is #newbook #publicationday for the 4th edition of Environmental Policy in the EU which I've had the pleasure to co-edit with Prof Andy Jordan @TyndallCentre @ueaenv for @routledgebooks…

Long-ish thread to follow....

This has been a long time coming: we first discussed new edition in 2016, then #Brexit (and @Brexitenv) happened. Our fantastic authors then had to grapple with #Covid, its impact on the EU as well as on their own lives...and the exciting developments re #EuropeanGreenDeal

We’re really proud of all 20 chapters from both authors new to the book & returning authors from previous editions, from all around Europe. If you are familiar with previous editions, you can expect 8 completely new chapters, more figures, boxes and tables throughout. 📈📊

4 days until Sendai Tanabata, and the #GreyDawn launch! Come join me on Facebook Live on Friday afternoon eastern US time! is the place. Then, patrons get an extra stream on Friday over on Discord! Hoping to see you there! #newbook #lesfic Image
Meanwhile, some other things I want to mention, in no particular order:

1. There seems to be confusion in some corners, so: no, the "Dr." isn't for fun-- my PhD in history and my generalized anxiety both come from UPitt, vintage 2017.
2. Relevant to Grey Dawn, I've gotten a surprising number of people express surprise that I have a character from 1863 named Chloë-- but in fact, the name is very old, and was first used in ancient Greece! It's also mentioned in the New Testament (1 Corinthians 1:11)

The #Reads for the Rest of Us list for Dec is coming soon @MsMagazine! I'm also working on the mother of all "most anticipated" reads (by women, #TGNC, #queer, #fat, #immigrant, #neurodivergent, international, and otherwise underrepresented writers) of 2020 list.
It's a big job! I have over 300 titles that I am sifting thru; so many look fantastic. #Fiction, #nonfiction, #poetry, and more. Some I've already #read, others not yet. I've heard from or reached out to over 65 #publishers and #publicists, they are working hard for you!
Do I know about your #newbook? Message me, email me, Tweet me, if you're not sure. My goal is to help raise visibility of historically marginalized #writers. I'm so lucky to get to learn about and read your amazing work along the way!

Woke up to a Google alert about this new review of #BodymindsReimagined in American Literary History by Rebecca Wanzo (@rawreader) & I am just so honored & amazed.

I’ll share my favorite quotes below! Happy to send folks a copy who don’t have access!…
“Schalk offers the most paradigm-shifting challenge to what is speakable and unspeakable: the problem of linking blackness with disability and how to reframe our treatment of these categories”

“The issue of pleasure is one of the most radical interventions of the book, thus modeling a new ideal of what the nexus of race and the speculative genre can do.” (And shout out to @adriennemaree, @WalidahImarisha & @OctaviasBrood) #pleasureactivism

I don’t have all the words for it yet, but if you don’t have Leah Lakshmi Piepzna-Samarasinha (@brownstargirl)’s new book Care Work, you need to go buy it right now. Now. Especially if you are disabled or a person of color or a femme or all of the above. It is...exceptional.
It reminds me of the intensely political, personal, fierce, healing writing of 80s WOC feminists like Audre Lorde & Gloria Anzaldúa. This book is intellectually & emotionally powerful. I’m buying copies for friends. I’m so blown away, so moved—truly a game changing collection.
