This is my annual Andypendence Day Thread.

Fellow Nigerians,

We were condemned before we were even born, by a nation built to fail by plundering British Lords, and kept a failure by plundering Nigerian generals and politicians.

But there is hope.

#NigeriaAt58
The Federal Republic of Nigeria does not exist for the benefit of the average Nigerian. The average Nigerian isn't free. She is a slave to a bad economy, worse education, and failure. These are the natural results of a system DESIGNED to keep a small elite in power.

Independence is not the end goal.
It is a state that is supposed to make the end goal more likely.
The end goal is a better life for ourselves and our children. The end goal is a national life of which we can be proud. #NigeriaAt58

There will always be people that seem to be happier than you, finer than you, having more fun than you, getting their act together better than you, stronger in influence than you & are loved more than you. This shouldn’t put pressure on u to hate yourself & rub it off on others.
These are echoes of the pressure of the side effect of too much socialmedia. Once the likes and retweets starts winding down and this gets to you, know that you need a break. Scarcity creates value. Take off some time and let something happen to you in reality for content.
You are uniquely you. Love who you are without stressing yourself about being like another. Appreciate people for who they are and understand their perspective. Life is far more simpler than we know. People really don’t care much about your status but your humanity.

Tomorrow is #Nigeria's independence day. Fools will celebrate, but the wise will mourn because it has been 58yrs of:
Wasted opportunities.
Visionless, mediocre and greedy leadership only skilled in looting than building the nation.
Weep for your shamelessness, @MBuhari! 😭😭😭😭
58 years of billions of dollars from oil & aid, yet no good infrastructure, policies or focus. To the point our mediocre president @MBuhari shamelessly takes himself to the UK for healthcare, wt the wealth of ordinary #Nigerians while the poor die from lack of adequate healthcare
58 years of stupidity, mediocrity and celebration of corruption is all that there is. Unless more Nigerians rise and speak out against these ills, stop supporting nepotism and not vote in visionless and shameless people like @MBuhari, Nigeria is heading for the dogs 😭.
