CJI: First you did not file a proper affidavit and then you filed an affidavit which did not deal with the two important questions. This way it cannot be done Mr Mehta.

You have to tell us how you have acted under Cable TV Act in some prior incident

CJI: We want to know the mechanism employed by you and this affidavit has nothing on it. Why should we refer to NBSA etc when you have the authority to look into it. If it does not exist then you create an authority else we will hand it over to an outside agency

#SupremeCourt commences hearing of a bunch of matters against cancellation of visas & blacklisting of around 3500 foreigners, reportedly the members of #TablighiJamaat who took part in the #NizamuddinMarkaz.

SG Tushar Mehta submits cancellation of visas is a purely sovereign function, no role of judicial review. He adds visas were cancelled by way of individual orders, sent through emails on a case by case basis.

Some 1500 emails were sent to these foreigners.

While #SupremeCourt observes the individual orders will have to be challenged, lawyers from the other side point out this will then involve multiple high courts & that in some cases, even the emails weren't served.

In attendance are 200 Malaysians and Indonesians, according to two top leaders interviewed by Reuters.

Tablighi Jamaat (TJ) is an orthodox Islamic missionary movement with members across the world.

Thousands of people from across Asia and elsewhere gather at its global HQ (the Markaz) in Delhi’s densely-populated Nizamuddin West area, famous for its Sufi shrines and kebab stalls.

1n Pointing out that #TablighJamaat is disproportionately responsible for the spread of a disease is NOT Islamophobia. It comes from the methods of political negotiation that muslims developed in the wake of 1857 & have been systematically rewarded by both Britain and India

2n Given their eviction from power, their society never moved past the feudal structure of power capture by few elite families. Given their weak economic & electoral hand: their tactics have remained consistent: escalating through obstinacy, obstructionism & finally violence.

3n An example of this is Partition. Jinnah starts with impossible maximalist demands, then starts obstructionism, & finally calls for violence. Issue is this pattern was rewarded by the British, then by the INC & now by the BJP. This strategy has proved brilliant for them.

1- Entry of Foreigners: "When asked whether the foriegn preachers were not screened at the airport for any COVID symptoms, the official said, “they entered India before the red alert was sounded.”

Failure 1- Delay in Announcing Red Alert for screening of foreigners for COVID-19. And if passengers entered before start of thermal screening in Jan 18, then these foreigners who entered before 18th Jan shouldn't be blamed as symptoms of COVID19 starts appearing within 14 days.

So they might had got infected in India. Based on above reports.
