/3 The fact that we have no wide urban transit system is abhorrent. We dedicate nearly all transportation to personal vehicles, leaving a large chunk of the population venerable to small fluctuations in #gasprices. Also with no alternative option, it's own a car or poverty.
1/ The @CityofStJohns tells me I am to engage in vehiclular cycling. Cool: I got an #ebike and I ride in traffic. Cool: I've had cars zoom passed me at lethal velocities because there is no real bike infrastructure. But... How do I trigger traffic lights?
2/ I've been patiently waiting on the vehicle magnetic sensor with nothing happening and cars behind me. Sorry #nltraffic cars but I literally cannot trigger the light.

3/ The sooner we can convert wasted on street parking (aside from downtown) and convert those to at a MINIMUM painted enforced bike gutters the better.

The rain has started on the South West Coast of NL. Headed to Port aux Basque where 250mm+ rain had been forecast #nlwx
The seas in Port aux Basque are already pretty strong but this is an area that’s used to the wind it’s the rain that has people here worried
The wind and the rain just keeps coming. A lot of people here have just shrugged it off as another fall storm but the mayor is warning the rainfall amounts projected is nothing Port aux Basques has ever seen before #nlwx
RNC Const. James Cadigan says police currently working on a coordinated shift change. Officers are snowshoeing to meeting points, where 4-wheel drive vehicles will meet them to get them to work.
Coordinating with plow operations as well to make this happen.

Cadigan says not to take the risk of getting yourself stuck somewhere you’ll need emergency response to help you out.
He also says best thing people can do is to check in on neighbours, people you know.
