Catching up on EFM panels I missed in Berlin in Feb. Thankful they were taped. Watching "Prime Video: International Content Strategy from Nordics to Nigeria" hoping to learn something about Amazon's Nigeria plans. Wangi Mba-Uzoukwu Head of Nigerian Originals, is on the panel...
Wangi on what she looks for in projects: "Light" stories; stay away from the dark material. Leaning more towards films than TV because TV is "a bit more technical." She wouldn't mind historical fiction, but they tend to be expensive, so don't expect epic productions. #Nollywood
Wangi on their target audience: Must appeal to local customers (Nigerians in Nigeria), but the work should also capture the Nigerian diaspora, and, third, non-Nigerian lovers of Nollywood content. Local content will be king to @primevideonaija and international will support it.

In April, a 48 year old actor, supposedly big (?) in Yoruba-language cinema , Olarenwaju Omiyinka aka #BabaIjesha was arrested for sexually molesting a 14 year old girl whom he had allegedly been assaulting since she was 7.He was caught on tape & he confessed to it.
2/ This month, a producer, #YomiFabiyi, released a movie about the case using the real names of all involved. His movie insiunated that there was a mutually sexual r/ship b/n the minor and Baba Ijesha (how sick) & that the latter was set up by the girl’s guardian, Princess
3/ Enough noise was made by right-thinking people and YouTube has pulled the movie, ‘ Oko Iyabo,’ and TAMPAN (Theatre Arts and Motion Picture Practitioners’ Association of Nigeria) has also apparently summoned Fabiyi to appear before the committee on 11th of this month

I've said this before, especially while watching many #Nollywood films. We need to address the infantilization of Nigerian adults. Its one of the ways that young adult Nigerians are denied full autonomy and emancipation. Seen alot of it during this #EndSARS
We like to call our serving presidents "Father of the Nation." But that's not how that phrase is used. We need to address this issue where elected officials speak to young voting age Nigerians like children.
Presidents, governors, National Assembly members, etc may be fathers and mothers, but they are elected public servants and that is what our relationship should be. They are NOT our parents, we are NOT their children.

Dear Nollywood,

-Vomiting is not d only sign of pregnancy

-Bandaging d neck, is not d only sign of an accident

Always have a medical personnel (preferably a doctor or nurse) look through the case & make a professional input. The world is watching

As much as we are in desperate need of whole scale amendments in basically every article of the constitution that governs our beautiful nation NIGERIA, we owe it to ourselves to be accountable not only for 'ethical transparency' but for the future too #DcemAfrica #LegalByteAfrica
Take for example the Nigerian Law Publications Limited. Regardless your field expertise we owe every bit of information to the future of our nation WE NEED TO START DOCUMENTING RECORDS. Information is Free, Knowledge is Expensive, Wisdom is Priceless. #DcemAfrica #LegalByteAfrica
Like the #ChampionsLeague match today between #BarçaLIV would be recorded and can be reviewed centuries later we NIGERIANS need to start documenting our doings for the future regardless of the various career we pursue. Cue from the Nigerian Recorded Music industry report by #DCEM

So I was in church yesterday and the pastor was talking about the resurrection of Jesus (Easter is coming ☺)

The message was enlightening but my naughty mind was just thinking what if Jesus was born, bred and died in Modern #Nigeria

#ThisisAThread
It was a hot afternoon, Jesus and them boys (the disciples)just finish causing traffic on third mainland bridge. Everywhere was blocked from the bridge to VGC. People were just offing shirt and putting palm frond on the ground shouting "Hosanna"
Me I was just in traffic thinking "which time person won come reach house today with all this traffic, o my God"
And all this because of one Jesus.
