Last March, they peacefully protested against the inaction of the Irish government in the face of climate change by painting the words “No More Empty Promises” on the front of a government building.

They were forced to pay a €3,000 bail following their imprisonment. Zac spent three nights in prison, as he was unable to immediately come up with the money.

Slowly coming to terms with how little my brain is capable of. The webbed chain reactions, aka clusterfuck or nexus, of the many systems – Earth systems, but also the many human systems – they overwhelm me. And knowing that I don't know or see half of it, overwhelms me even more.
Adding to this, that I can't trust my mind nor my previous philosophy, is the profound loss of trust in other people; in their ability to overlook their own part of the systems they make decisions for, and in their minds' ability to mesh their radius with neighboring systems.
Ability - or willingness. Ofc, I see that they're not willing to in the depth and consequences for their decision making radius that I view as req'ed.
Yet I still hope that all this is only due to my own mind's limitation. And that they're much more capable than I can realize.

1. Es braucht ein klares #CO2Budget. @Umweltrat hat errechnet, dass 🇩🇪 noch ca.4,2 Gt CO2 übrig bleiben und wir somit 2035 klimaneutral sein müssten. Dazu braucht es ein klares Bekenntnis, schnellstmöglich reicht nicht aus @KatjaKeul @Die_Gruenen

2. Es braucht einen Stopp des Baus von neuen Autobahnen. Beim Thema #Danni haben @Die_Gruenen dabei Vertrauen bei uns verspielt. Eine echte #Verkehrswende braucht Verkehrsverlagerung und keine neuen Autobahnen @KatjaKeul

Beim Biden Summit spricht #Merkel von der Klimakrise als Herkulesaufgabe. Statt aber bei Finanzierung & dem Ende fossiler Subventionen konkret zu werden, schwärmt sie vom Kohleausstieg '38. Die Erwartungen waren nicht hoch, aber das wird langsam lächerlich. 1/ #NoMoreEmptySummits
Klimapolitik wird diese Tage mehr denn je zu Symbolpolitik, echte Reduktionen werden durch die Ankündigung entfernter (& nicht ausreichender) Klimaziele ersetzt, die Bilanzen werden geschönt & Maßnahmen verdünnt, bis kaum etwas übrig bleibt. Und all das, während die Krise tobt.2/
Mit Symbolpolitik wird die Klimakrise nicht aufgehalten, und Klimagerechtigkeit zur Unmöglichkeit. Aber wir machen das nicht mit. Also streiken wir, morgen, in Deutschland und weltweit, online und offline - alles coronakonform. #NoMoreEmptyPromises

Punkt 1: Der Kohleausstieg ist nicht nur mit der #Klimakrise verbunden. Dritter in der Runde ist der Ausbau der Erbeuerbaren Energien. Die MIBRAG verzichet nun gönnerhaft auf die Kohle unter Pödelwitz, da Energiegewinnung aus Kohle schlicht nicht mehr wirtschaftlich ist.
Punkt 2: Der Ausbau der Windenergie ist in Sachsen zum Erliegen gekommen, weil Flächen für Windkraftanlagen auf der Basis des sächs. Energie- & Klimaprogramms (EKP) vergeben werden. Das aktuelle EKP stammt aus dem Jahr 2013 und arbeitet auch mit Zielstellungen von damals.
